Banner health Nurse fellows program??

Published

Has anyone had an interview for this program through gateway and Banner Health? Just curious because I would like to know the type of questions they ask you in order to get selected.

OHMYGOD! I was ready to muzzle that person. She didn't even have her pre-reqs and all she asked about was the BSN! Like, hello????? :wink2:

I answered you on the CC! I will be able to apply week of 10/24 only because I am going to drive 50 miles each way to Central Arizona College to take their Saturday CNA class (only Sat class in the state through an "accredited" school. I want to get a jump on all the people waiting, hence the drive!

I was ready to muzzle her too!! Worry about getting your RN BEFORE you worry about an RN-BSN program!! Maybe in the future they should limit the orientation to people who are ready to turn in their applications within the next semester or so, I don't know, she seemed to waste a lot of time.

That's too bad about your drive, but great you got in the program!!! I know how hard it is to get in, almost as bad as nursing school! I didn't want to wait so I took it through A. Red Cross. It was a great program, but I had to fork out a lot of extra cash to get my license. I was lucky, my program was only about 10 miles away and it was on Fri night, Sat day from 9-04 to 11-04. I'm actually in my last class of pre-req's, I take my 202 test next week :yeah: I've been going straight through since last June, non-stop. I start my co-req's on Thursday, might as well since I'm sitting this semester out. I'm only able to put down one choice on my ap, due to schedule conflicts so I'm just praying I get in...

CBL

Good luck on your test! My 202 is in 3 weeks...it is a much tougher classer than 201, but not too bad!

You must be taking it through Rio too. I thought 202 was a lot harder as well. 1 more week to go!!!

Rio it is! With the infamous instructor everyone has complained about on this board.

Tough for me to put my finger on why it is harder! Seems like a lot more material in a lot less time. Too much to memorize! Staples must be rolling in the dough given the number of index cards I have purchased in the past few months!

Good Luck!

Calzonan,

In that app week at Glendale, which day did you turn your app in, M-F? When they told you that they had less apps than usual, they probably weren't lying as I heard many people are holding out for them to take out the CNA class requirement. That said, seems to me you stand a better chance of getting in than I did. Plus, they will register everyone but many people drop or don't pay their bill, so even if you don't get in first run, maybe you will when they do it again right before the semester starts??

Yeah, if you are totally unwilling to go to any other CC then I would say only put down Glendale PT. You could put another program down and transfer, but there is no gaurantee...

I think you stand a good chance.

BIO 202 harder than 201? :chuckle I didn't think so at all...:) Just my two cents!

I thought you couldn't transfer once you were in a CC's program?

I also thought 202 was easier that 201 but that could have been my teacher. She was awesome!

Hi Deanna,

You can transfer in between programs, although MCCD tries to discourage it.......I agree about Mrs. McGaughey.......they need to clone that woman, I've never had a better instructor....you will be so glad you had her for 202 once you take Patho, especially when you cover Acid-Base balance!

I"m actually going on what the counselor said when I was there about two weeks ago. She told me that during spring and summer ap weeks there were actually less people submitting applications than in the last few years. I"m still holding out that this means I may be able to get in in the spring.
