Hi Everyone!
I"m new to HH nursing, it's been approximately 2mos. So far, I love it! The autonomy, the flexibility, the patients, the money....not so much the OAIS, lol.
Anyway, does someone have a bag they recommend that I can order online? My agency gave me a bag....One of the zippers was broke. They gave me a 2nd bag, and the other day, the strap broke while I was standing on someone's porch! Obviously, they are buying cheap bags. I'm willing to pay for a decent one. I looked on Amazon and the reviews on there are hit or miss....suggestions??

I bought my last one at TJMaxx because I wanted something I liked the look and feel of. It has pockets in the outside for hand sanitizer, pens, dirty pocket. Small pockets on the inside for scissors etc. And two large compartments. Rolled handles that don't hit the floor. Zipper close. And a hard bottom easy to disinfect.
Have you tried Hopkins? They have many styles designed for HH.

I found that a diaper bag works well for home care and Eddie Bauer makes some nice ones that do not look like diaper bags. They hold up well and have multiple pockets and zippers.

My agency uses Ogio backpacks. They hold up well.

My bag is great, nice and sturdy. I don't know the brand, they gave it to me.
I was going to suggest a diaper bag as well. Land's End makes good ones with tons of pockets. Easy to clean.

I love my "thirty one" utility tote. I have seen other nurses with them, too. My boss always complimented that she liked it. They also make lunch sacks, and picnic totes, and travel totes.... You get the idea!! Mine held up through a year of work and a year of
school. I've had it almost 3 years, I think.

I see other nurses carry back packs, too.
Oh, for work now I have a large tote.
I had a purple back pack at the hospital until one of the docs started calling me "Dora the Explorer"
Jerk.

Don't tell Davey Do. I can see the cartoons now.
For HH, a really good diaper bag can work. When my bag falls apart, that's what I'm getting.

Check out some of the bags sold as 'luggage'. Am not in HH, but I needed a bag, big enough for 'stuff' but mobile. I found something with wheels and a pull-out handle. Worked fine.
And I know this may sound crazy, but some of the TV Shopping Channels have neat bags - my lunch bag was from QVC and I gave some of them as co-worker gifts.

We aren't allowed to use wheeled.
