Hi Everyone!
I"m new to HH nursing, it's been approximately 2mos. So far, I love it! The autonomy, the flexibility, the patients, the money....not so much the OAIS, lol.
Anyway, does someone have a bag they recommend that I can order online? My agency gave me a bag....One of the zippers was broke. They gave me a 2nd bag, and the other day, the strap broke while I was standing on someone's porch! Obviously, they are buying cheap bags. I'm willing to pay for a decent one. I looked on Amazon and the reviews on there are hit or miss....suggestions??
Hi group! I am a Home Health Nurse and am doing some market research for a school project. Can you help me by answering these questions?1. What kind of Home Health bag do you use?
2. What do you like about it?
3. What would you change?
4. What would the perfect bag offer you for options?
5. What max price would you/or your HHA pay per bag?
6. Do you use any barrier between your bag and the surface you use? If so, what do you use?
7. Do you worry about bed bugs, cockroach or other eggs getting on your bag/shoes? í ½í°€
Thanks so much!!!
Non porous.
Outsides pockets to hold pens/phone, hand sanitizer, dirty pocket, small sharps, barriers.
Ideally large flat pocket for laptop.
Inside large enough to hold box of gloves standing upright and wound cleanser.
Another inside to hold bp cuff etc.
Several little pockets for thermometer/pulse ox, etoh/skin preps/ disinfected scissors (and pocket is non porous to keep scissors disinfected)
Must stand up.
Must zip close.
Best to have have short stiff handles that don't fall onto surfaces.
Optional, looks good, because I like having something nice looking.
Thank you!! I like something that looks good too. The bags I find are plain and ugly. Thx for your input! How much would you pay for the 'perfect bag'?
I'd prefer to pay $25-35 but would pay $50 if I loved it.
That said, we provide basic HH bags that meet most of my criteria except not completely non porous, soft wide shoulder strap, and pretty utilitarian looking. I just bought mine because I wanted something that looked like my personal style.

Hopkins Medical is a great site!
I bought myself this bag EZ View Med Bag - Hopkins Medical Products
it it works out very well. I had an agency issued bag, it had just 2 large pockets and I could never find the dressing supplies I needed without having to nearly empty the stupid thing! This bag has 2 outer zippers that open flat, clear pockets, and clear binder sleeves. The middle pocket is my "dirty) and houses my equipment. It's a bit heavier all loaded up, but no more digging to find things!

Gotcha. For where I was, it was OK. But not HH.
