Backpack that can hold 6+ books?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

This fall my nursing classes are back to back with no way I could return to the car between classes. At the very minimum I will need to carry 6 textbooks, plus notebooks, lunch, etc with me.

I hate wheeled backpacks but am definately going to have to get one, but is there any that will hold this much?

I really hate the idea of walking around campus with a rolling backpack, AND a regualr backpack on my back.

Any suggestions/reviews of backpacks would really help.

THANKS!

I saw alot of people using collapsable rolling crates. I think you can get them at walmart for about $25. They had every nursing book in them.

I was in the same predicament last semester when I started. But then, I found out that you really don't need a rolling backpack because there is really no need to bring those HUGE books to school! Unless you are studying in between classes...our school has lockers.

Don't bring all your books to school! You will regret it. Plus, you might get a hernia.

hmm, well we have to bring our books to school. We have the books with the chapter(s) we were to read the night before and chapter tests that are part of the book we have to do for homework and have ready the next day. We also have several "study guide" workbooks we have to do and bring in for class and they check EVERYONE's homework, EVERY TIME so no messing around there. I also find that, if during lecture, I am busy trying to copy the powerpoint and take notes on everything said I actually miss very important info they SAY during lecture and many times what the SAY, indicates what will be on the test. Usually, I take my book, previously read the night before, and simply underline from the chapter things they talk about in class and write in the chapter specifically highlighted points made so I can spend more time listening and less time writing. All this said I will agree that the unbinding of the books, and putting chapter by chapter in a binder is a brilliant idea and think I am going to run over to staples as soon as I can get shoes on!

I got myself a Swiss Army wheeled backpack, gosh I hope it's enough.:uhoh3: And if it's not I might need to have some books "dissected":lol2: and put into binders

my NS start in Sept, and the book list has not been finalized yet, I know there's this one book we'll need to get it's like 2500 pages or something, I saw it at the bookstore.... it's HUGE:eek:

I've never used this, but it looks great. If I ever really get off duff and go back to school, I think this is what I would get.

This looks freaking cool. Anyone have one of these?

My A&P and Psych classes were on the same day back to back. Books were very heavy. (2000 pages)

I found out that Staples will take your book and break them down into sections for you. You can sectionalise them to whatever your needs are. In my case I made sections according to what the syallbus required ie: 1st week Chapters 1-3 week 2 4-7 etc. Cost is nominial (1300 pages A&P) into 5 sections $15.00 with the index seperate.

They will even make covers for you, costs extra of course, but it saves buying roller type backpack.

PSoops I didn't see the mention of Staples for book binding

Yes I do. I have a Turquoise and Brown one with the optional seat. It was the best thing to get me through school. Light to pull and it loads from the side so everything is easy to access and lots of side pockets and even a key pocket. The frame holds up to 300lbs so doubled as a seat as well. Its pricey but totally worth it. I will be using it when I go back for RN for sure it rolls so smoothly
