We also just use plain water. On bigger babies we use wet washcloths and on the little preemies we use wet gauze. Most NICUs don't supply wipes because they can be too irritating on the skin of these special babies.
Does anyone know the name of those kleenex-like cloths mentioned above? I'd like to look into something like that. Our linen bill is very high from all the washcloths, and the only gauze pads we get are indivually packaged and sterile so that's expensive, too.

I can't think of the name of them off the top of my head, but they are made by Johnson & Johnson. They come in a white box with a tear-off lid for easy access, and they are folded much like a baby wipe, so you can reach in the box and grab one easily. They have sort of a fish-net like appearance, and hold up well when wet, unlike a regular Kleenex.

I am a neonatal nurse and would like to find out what kind of wet wipes other facilities use for their babies.
