When they are brand new the fluidized material is very viscous, so it is very stiff and moldable. I am not sure if it is the heat from the isolettes and warmers, but over time the filling gets real mushy and non supportive. Babies that were placed on their sides with the positioner was molded around them would end up on their back after a short period.
When used properly the Z-flo can be great, a lot of people think it's just an alternate mattress though and don't use it as a positioner. When they are rolled out on a unit there needs to be proper in services. Also important that babies get graduated from the Z-flo when it's no longer necessary. Frog positioners are good for intubated babies. I've also seen a fish positioner that is used for prone.
I googled NICU positioning products, and looked @ the images: nicu positioning products - Google Search
This one company's products I thought were quite good: nicu positioning products - Google Search

Hi. I found a topic about this on the forum, but it was old and closed, so I couldn't post a comment there. That's why I am creating a new one.
Could you share what do you use for baby positioning? I don't mean blanket rolls, I am talking about specially designed for that stuff. The reason I'm asking is that recently we've started using this sundance neonatal positioner and I am amazed! This thing is really great for head shaping, neck support or as prone roll. Here is what I'm talking about: Neonatal Utility Positioner by Sundance
So, first of all, I wanted to share my excitement about this positioner. We all love it and the babies too. They seem to feel so comfy.
And also I was wondering, do you maybe know other things similar to this one?
Thanks
