I had a thought about this today....
Could you imagine what it would be like if Jesus were a NICU admission today?
I could hear us nurses whisper:
"Another virgin birth? How could she NOT know she was pregnant?"
"No prenatal care? Ugh." "Better go get the UTox and HepB/HbIG ready..."
"Are you kidding me? This woman just crossed the border, JUST to give birth HERE??!!" "Now MY tax dollars are going to pay for it all.... why didn't she stay where she belonged??!!"
"Another baby daddy who isn't the real father. What a tramp...."
"Yet another GBS unknown....ugh. Get out the amp and gent and give him a bath...."
"I can't believe she had this kid outside the hospital!" "I mean, the kid could have come in with a temp of 94f!!"
Makes me wonder what I would have felt, had I not know I was caring for the Son of God.......It really makes me aware of the inhumane things we think in situations like this, instead of the caring spirit we should be showing.

Wow........this scenario definitely gives one food for thought, especially in an age when there is so much callousness in the world. Thanks for reminding us to be more caring and less quick to judge.

Why would the perfect Son of God need to be admitted to the NICU?!!!!!!

Not to mention, "Oh, great, another 15-year-old giving birth. What's this kid going to amount to?"
Of course, she says God did it....psych consult!

While some of your points are valid, these:
"No prenatal care? Ugh." "Better go get the UTox and HepB/HbIG ready...""Yet another GBS unknown....ugh. Get out the amp and gent and give him a bath....""I can't believe she had this kid outside the hospital!" "I mean, the kid could have come in with a temp of 94f!!"
Are hardly inhumane. You're a healthcare professional and you are prioritizing the health of the baby in these situations.

I anticipate a fight over whether an asymptomatic infant born to a GBS unknown mom should get abx right away or wait for the cultures to come back.

Yep, for an example, head on over to the "Briston Palin gives birth" thread.
We all need to be more careful about judging.

This is what may be called a pure coincidence-a Peruvian woman called Virgen Maria, closely resembling Virgin Mary, gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas Day and named him Jesus.
The father is also a carpenter.

^^ except Jesus wasn't born in December. December 25th was to celebrate Saturnalia, from a pagan religion but brought over to Christianity so that people would adjust better while switching religions. More likely Jesus was born in the spring time.

Jesus is the perfect son of God, so if the Bible speaks the truth, then He might be a NICU admission because every child is the perfect son/daughter of God in His eyes.
