Avatars

Where can I find a custom avator? Anyone know a good place to download one?

And if I find one how the heck do I get it here? Pretty puter illiterate-sp.

You can use any picture that is at or less than 100x100 pixels....HOWEVER the function isn't working right at this moment.

I googled "avatars" and found quite a few websites.

Glad to hear the function isn't working because I've tried for two days to change my custom avatar to a holiday avatar without success. I thought I was doing something wrong. Go figure. :D

Well, I'm going to have to stop smacking the side of my computer... I assumed my difficulties with the Avatar part of the site was its fault (usually is).

Especially since I sent an email about it when I first joined.....

(I am amazed, though, at how smooth this site runs. Don't want anyone to think I am complaining....)

;)

Yeh, but I'm getting STRESSED now about the inability to change avatars... if and when I want to ! Do like this little snoman, though... a good thing, too !

If it's not fixed by spring, however, the poor lil' fella will MELT ! :o

Hope Brian get's this fixed soon....

I was hoping that it wasn't only me that was having problems. I've been trying to upload a custom avatar for weeks!...Thanks!

I had help with this very problem. Though we can't upload directly from our pc's, we can from a website. Here is the link to that thread, efiebke was very helpful:

I understand...it saves steps, that's for sure...and I hope this option is fixed soon.

In the mean time, if anyone has any questions about how to upload a custom avatar TO a website and then download it to here, PM me. For anyone with extreme frustration with this I can always upload it to one of my websites and then e-mail or PM you the web address for the avatar.

Unfortunately, we're ALL STILL having the same problem. I originally thought it was my computer too, but it isn't. SO MUCH FOR UPGRADES!

Jnette,

You can upload images from your puter to a Pic Hosting site (I use Village Photo and it's free) and then under User CP>Edit Options>Change Avatar you can put the link to your avatar from the pic hosting site. If you wanna try that, the site is http://www.villagephotos.com/ . The site does a pretty good job of explaining how to use it and it's pretty easy. Hope that helps!! ;)

Thanks for the info about changing avatars, but I have another question that the FAQs didn't answer.

How do I change "senior member" under my user name to custom text? So many of you have creative text ... I'd like to have something more personal too. The FAQ directed me to look for the "insert custom text" option under edit profile .... but I'll be darned if I see anything like that (and I like to think that I'm pretty computer literate, too!).

Is this option also not working at this time? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks much.

Leigh
