Hi Everyone!
I did not see a thread for applicants for spring 2019! I know its a bit early but since the deadline is in July I figured I would start a thread so we could talk about acceptance, application stats, etc. I'm planning on applying once I take my HESI. I hope to get in but I'm so worried!
How are ya'll feeling?
Hi guys! I am starting tomorrow for 1105 and I know at least a couple of you are starting this week as well. Hope you aren't too nervous And hope you rock it!
I do have a question if someone can help me!! I can't find the "communication matching" on the practice activities for module 3. Anyone else figure out where it is or which page it's on and can lead me to it??
I've done everything else and it is driving me bonkers!
Thx!!
So is anyone going to attempt to work while in Nursing School?I think I may have to and I'm getting a little nervous about it. I've gone and essentially mapped out my courses for after I apply and get in and it looks like on the days I will have in school classes I'll get out around 2pm. But Clinicals I know are a whole different story...
A few of my classmates work while going to class and clinical. Understand that clinical schedules do not get released until the week before class. L1 and L2 are 2x per week for about 6 hours. L3 and L4 are 12h shifts. Class times are usually in the morning from 8-12 and labs are generally until 2-3 depending your group time. This also doesn't include going to the hospital the day before to get patient info. So nursing school can take up A LOT of your time. If you do work, make sure they are EXTREMELY flexible to your nursing schedule as well as study schedule.
The first 8 weeks are pretty busy due to check offs, etc. Second 8 weeks are harder study wise because everything is more critical thinking than skill based. This is for Level 1 of course. I am just starting Level 2.
I had to do a work around with the financial aid to get Nursing Skills paid for. I took 2 classes from the
Pre-Nursing degree plan that would also be for the BSN degree, and took just enough classes to make the
min required hours to get full grant money. Talk to financial aid, they helped me out, hopefully they will help you out too.
I wish the deadlines were different so I could still enter in the Fall of 2019 instead of being forced to wait a full year to start nursing school. I pretty much have no left over courses to take within that time either and it feels like I'm gonna complete a 3 year degree in a 10 year time Frame lol

I know how frustrating it can be to take.forever to go through this process. I also have friends who took that long amd dont regret it. And for.myself it can be frustrating when think about how long its
Sooo..I heard.unofficially that there.is no.waitlist for.our class that the people.who.said.so.know.of.at.least...which would.lead me to believe we either qualified and are.taking the class or didn't. Just.my assumption from that. It.made.my day.to hear that tidbit..which I.feel.is reinforced.by the extended.deadline so feeling good about it. And.thought I would.share the "possible and completely unofficial" good news :)
