Austin Community College 2019

Hi Everyone!

I did not see a thread for applicants for spring 2019! I know its a bit early but since the deadline is in July I figured I would start a thread so we could talk about acceptance, application stats, etc. I'm planning on applying once I take my HESI. I hope to get in but I'm so worried!

How are ya'll feeling?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide if I should take pharmacology online or in person. I have taken a lot of basic classes online and done well, but I'm not sure if Pharmacology is a good class to take online since it has a reputation of being difficult. Does anyone have any advice?

Dosage calculations are a little tricky so I found that having an in person lecture on that helpful. The rest is rote memorization so I guess it's up to you based on the tools you need to do that well.

I will say that Tammie Petersen at RRC is amazing and I think she does both!

I personally would suggest taking that class in person. Dosage calculations can be very tricky and difficult until you understand them. And it's just a ton of material. Ultimately, if you decide to take it online, I believe they offer a workshop for dosage calculations, and you should definitely do that!

Best of luck!

Okay, y'all who started in Spring... Did anyone go to RRC? Can you tell me about it?

I did my skills there but my home campus is EVC. There's actually a RRC facebook page! They have a lot of info on the page and they are always happy to answer questions specific to that campus! I hope that's helpful! or if any one on this page has been to RRC they can help too!
