Austin Community College (ACC)

U.S.A. Texas

Good morning allnurses.com viewers,

I just submitted my application to ACC for Spring 2009 and I am VERYYYY nervous. This program is so intimidating knowing it's past concerning waitlists and (though very doubtful) I wish to be accepted on the first attempt.

I am just wondering if anyone here in Austin has gone to the information sessions, talked to the chairman (woman), or has any information on what the waitlist is supposed to look like for Spring 2009.

Also, what ranking points is usually the cut-off for the waitlist? I have searched forums and some people have 45-50 ranking points (which is amazing and I congratulate you guys), but how many ranking points is it usually before they deny your admittance to the program?

Thank you for reading my post and I hope to hear from someone soon.

Sincerely,

FilipinOOO

p.s. this is my first post so go easy on me:saint:

I got **** ***********. This is his first semester teaching Physiology in about 3 years. He has taught it for years though before. He is good. He usually teaches Anatomy only. He gives us a review before the tests and the homework and notes are really detailed. I also heard *** ****** is good.

I am still in the early stages of the pre's and co's for the RN program. Both those professor are wonderful. I wish you guys all the luck. I am so ready to be done with all this and get in the program. I am so very anxious about how long I will have to wait before FINALLY being excepted.

Can anyone please tell me more about this 40% drop out rate once your in the RN program. That makes me very concerned. Also what finally number do I need to make it the first round into the RN program? Thanks

This reminder was not directed at you specifically. You merely quoted a post that had names in it.

Does anyone know of a site that will allow students to name the professors? Everyone has there own opinions but I think its very important to get feed back from those who have taken the classes. Worst fear is to take a class with a professor that is hard and unrealistic.

I have chosen all my professors either on ratemyprofessors.com or word of mouth from other students I know.

does anyone know for sure if they will increase the amount accepted because of the round rock opening? it seems like they would. just wish that we had some sort of definite answer. it's a bit daunting to watch the average raise from 46 to 51 accepted. just wish i knew there will be better odds to come.

adamsrtb,

you said the avg of those accepted jumped from 46-51. are you talking about the ranking score avg (nursing courses x # of courses + hesi + review points= ranking score avg)? so applicants that were admitted had rank score of 46 the previous semester and 51 this semester? did you confirm this with the nursing dept?

Yes I am talking about the average point value going from 46 to 51. I didn't confirm this directly but through reading other posts I have found this out.

Hello all! Hope this last part of the semester is going well. I am ready for it to be over but yet kind of feel like I am finally finding my pace with pharmacology. Owell.. I have two tests left in there plus the final and one more test in Micro. Hopefully I will end up with an A in both and then I am ready to apply for LVN!

Also, for people that may still need immunizations it was taking me FOREVER to even get through on the phone, let alone an appointment, but I found that the Rosewood Clinic in Webberville had the most openings and was easiest to get through, just an FYI. :)

hey all... hope every is doing well. Very excited this semester is almost over. This just puts me one step closer to applying for the RN program. I just wanted to share with everyone I created a group on face book called ACC future/present nursing students. Please check it out. Congrats to everyone who made it into the program this semester and for those that didn't do not give up you will make it.

Take care everyone...
