Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
Is anyone having a problem getting the flu vaccine? I'm told it's not available as of yet. And they want these papers by August 1st? For South...Hmmm.
I know there's certain vaccines for sure that won't be done by the first. Certain ones require series of shots and it would be impossible to get stuck that many times before the deadline! I think in that circumstance they give you paperwork that we'd have to bring to South clarifying that
Med_girl you do not pay at quest, the school will send that payment to you eventually. Also CPR class does not matter hours it just has to say BLS and american heart association on it(so make sure whomever does it does it that way). b.moore the flu shot is seasonally between Sept 15-March 31, that's what it says on form.If you were starting school between those dates you would need to get the shot. When I was suppose to start in May I had my shots done at walgreens and while I was there they did my flu shot for me even though it was out of the dates.I had it done anyway even though I didn't need it yet.Bcc is aware flu shot is not due yet
For South, does anyone know if we have to wear scrubs for orientation? Also what do we wear on lecture days?
yes we must be in full uniform for orientation...on lecture days we have to wear our uniforms as well (blue or white polo, blue scrub bottoms, and white shoes oh and no make-up, jewlery and no hair touching our shirt collars)

I am not sure if Broward makes us get it... I have worked in a hospital though and it was not mandatory.
