I totally understand you being on edge lol i think they allow calculators to be used at that campus. not 100% sure but that's what I've heard so if so you're lucky! :) definitely do not fall behind on reading or wait till last minute. after each exam immediately begin reading the next chapters. I tried to make sure at least like 4 days before test I was completely done reading so that it was strictly review and answering questions and reading rationales. The test questions are NCLEX style so they are not easy like gen ed classes, you really have to think so doing as many practice problems as possible will help prepare you. Also, make sure you are never late to any lecture or clinical day, not even a second late. When your practicing for return demo 1 try to get your physical assessment down to max 15 minutes so that you have enough time for your other skills you'll be performing. ( we had 45 mins total at central for return demo1 ). Don't let other peoples opinions and decisions about things like retracking or withdrawing affect you. stay positive and focused and you will do great! stay focused! good luck!!

Honestly between lecture, practicing for return demo and clinical assignments, pharm, studying for the math exams you will be extremely busy. I didn't work and I'd say about 6-8 hours every day ( not counting time spent in school). I made school my first priority and put my social life on hold. If i did it so can you !! which campus are you at?

We wrote directly in the STAT book and they collected the whole book graded it then handed it back. (central campus)

Good luck to everyone starting process 1!! I'm starting Gi/GU tuesday and my biggest piece of advice is to not fall behind on the reading. The first week of theory will be a little intro and the instructor will probably start lecturing right away as the first exam if i remember correctly was like the second week. As far as clinical the first week you will be introduced to your clinical instructor and group and will probably watch videos on nursing skills but pay attention as those skills are some skills you're tested on in your first return demo. The program is very doable don't listen to the people who only have negative things to say! If you're dedicated you will do great! I know some people who worked and still did fairly well, everyone handles the stress differently. Do what works for you. and stay away from negative people who say its impossible and too much. It is a LOT and you'll realize that very quickly but you can do it. I am by no means a brainiack but i had no life and dedicated ALL my time to the program, I'm the kind of person who needs to read things a few times for it to really stick. I spent about 26 hours in the lab practicing for return demo 1. They tell you only about 12 or so are required but put in as many hours you need to to feel confident in your skills. I highly recommend the fundamentals for success book for extra practice questions for the exams. READ ALL RATIONALES even for the wrong answers. good luck to everyone !!! I'm not a math person either. Buy the math packet and do it as many times til u feel comfortable to take the test that's what I did and passed the first one. Before process 2 practice harder problems because that test will not be as easy as process 1.

This is an example of the basic basic basic problems you'll learn first . You will get formulas for harder problems when u start your math class.

Starting summer term once you're accepted Make sure u read as many chapters as u can before class starts. August was insane I couldn't of imagined starting in summer for process 1. Stay focused and you can do it ! The math is dosage calculations. Proportions, long division. I suggest if you're weak with decimals and long division to brush up on basics before starting so you're not stressed over that. No calculators are allowed either.

Yes. It's 10 questions and u can only miss 1. Process 1 math class is like 3 weeks or something then u have an exam which is pretty straight forward what you learned just buy the berger math packet and do it and should be fine. I did it twice to prepare. Process 2 math exam is extremely difficult and a lot harder then the first one u take. Dont underestimate it like I did. I failed it the first time and they give u 1 more chance to retake the week after and I passed but the second test is harder so you want to pass the first time.

Congrats all of you for getting into the program!! :) I started the program in august and I am going to be 100% honest with you it's been rough. We started with around 140 people in process 1 and when we started process 2 a few weeks ago there was about 80 of us(some being retrackers from process 2 the previous semester), after our math competency exam for process 2 we now only have about 40 students. I'm not telling you this to scare you but rather to emphasize how demanding this program is. What you hear is true, you will have zero life and perry and potter textbook will be your boyfriend/girlfriend who you'll spend ALLLLL your time with lol. It is doable as long as you stay focused and don't associate yourself with people who are not serious about the program as it will only bring you down. When you start process 1 you'll have lecture, clinical, math class, pharmacology, and mandatory lab hours that you need to put in every week until return demo 1. My advice is to begin reading as soon as you get your syllabus so you don't find yourself even more overwhelmed for the first test with everything else that will be going on. Hi all.. i started in august and if I could give you guys any word of advice: enjoy your life now while u still have it ! And as soon as you get ur syllabus from orientation begin reading! Once you start you're in lecture lab math and pharmacology on top of putting in mandatory weekly lab hours, it is a LOT! I wish I had read ahead of time! Good luck to everyone :)

I can't find it either!! You sat next to me in last orientation right ? I'm the blonde that sat to the right of you .. i did print the clinical handout that was 41 freakin pages !!!!

Central people: bc modules, student handbook, and kantis clinical handout will be available to access on d2l as of monday.. it is not in the bookstore! :)

Anyone hear anything about bc modules, student handbook, and kantis clinical packet yet??? I keep trying to call bookstore and nobody answers
