Attention Recent Trinitas/UCC Upper Class(wo)men and Grads...need advise :)

Published

I recently got accepted to Trinitas for this fall semester (Hurray!!! :nurse:) and I need some advise. I need to know how hard is NURE 130 because the councelors have TOTALLY discouraged me and rocked my faith in myself. I have a full course load: CHE 113 w/lab, BIO 105 w/lab, and ENG 101. When I registed, one of the councelors said, that she would "BET" money on me failing (THAT IS A DIRECT QUOTE)!!!!! I went into registarion confident but came out scared to death. What exactly am I getting myself into?!?!?

Hi Mi Mi!

Yes, will NEED to have the invitation letter. So, your best bet is to wait for next semester to see if you'll get the invitation.

I am a deterime person who drives on you can't. I was reading other people quotes about UCC and the negitive experiances they incountered with profs. I enjoy the medical field but, hated i waited this long to go back to school at age 38. I'm a single Parent with two children that are great ages, so i can be more flexable, knowing nursing school is a rigors program. My :sofahiderfear is my acadamics, science wasn't my strength but i do well in math. Therefore, would this be a serious problem for me in the program? :msk:

you need to be familiar with your A&P and a little bit of microbiology. you'll be needing your math skills throughout the course. i don't like to be negative about the school, but it is very rigorous and some of the professors you might encounter might not be so encouraging. they were okay with me. like i stated before, we started out with about 150 students, graduated with 44 (highest # of graduates thus far), but if you take out all the repeaters there must be only 20-something of us left from start to finish. i believe the graduates from 2 semesters before i graduated, there were only 20 or less total?

BTW, Trinitas has been applying to be a School of Excellence, so i dont know if their curriculum will get any harder...

Advise to mi mi: you'll be doing presentations and research papers throughout the program, so it would be nice to start spelling correctly :wink2:

I don't know what BTW means? But, I thank you for your honest comment:specs::up: and your rapid response.

Before, I left Bronx Community College and transferred to UCC, I took a medical terminology course and was wondering would that benefit me in the program.

BTW = by the way

taking a medical terminology course is not necessary since you will learn that in NURE130, and it really isnt difficult. it's basically memorization. if u do take it, at least u get a head start and get to focus more on the theory content during 130.

i'm also a transferred student at union county college and would like to know if someone knows when do you recieve an invitation into the program. i have taken chem, public speaking, history and child psych for this semester and doing alright so far. but, i am really worried about making it into the program for spring 2009 since, i have nothing eles to take. does anyone know if i have to complete all my classes before i recieve my invitation. also, i would like to know if there are any books that are fundamental to read so i can prepare myself for nursing 130..... since i have to wait for my invitation......... hopfully spring 2008..........

I'm going into my Senior year at Bloomfield College this fall.

Congrats:yeah:

i am trying to take micro again last time i took this class with both lecture and lab on the same day.. with 2 more four credit classes....:angryfire:banghead: I thought i was doing well until my Micro professor judge you on how well you answer a question to see if you are really studying.. I maintain a 2.78 average after the semester but he gave me a C- and said i was lazy!

I really dont want this to happen again... and now i got to do it all over>>> >>> think its wise to do it with nur130:coollook: Help!!... Im a transfer student from BCC >>>> UCC.....need advice!!!

Just wondering if anyone has any updates regarding Trinitas..

I got accepted for the program but I wouldn't enroll until this Fall. My #1 is Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing so I'm waiting to see where that goes. But, UCC is my second choice.

I was there for only one semester. I had a C for 130 while waiting for an invitation to repeat 130 i transfer to another school.
