Hi just wanted to start a thread for nurse residencies for Spring 2024 in Atlanta. I've applied to CHOA, Emory, Northside, NGMC, and Piedmont. Has anyone else applied or heard anything?

did anyone apply to northside?
Unfortunately Emory does not have pediatrics. When I was doing research, I saw that some people got hired later in the process at CHOA, so I don't think it's too late to not hear back. I applied beginning of august and didn't hear from a recruiter until mid September. They just have to go through all those resumes so maybe you will still have an opportunity, they may just not have as many specialty positions still.
Also they will have more openings as people get hired and then decline their offer at CHOA. Good luck and hope you hear back!

Hi everyone.I found this forum and figured I'll ask a few questions. I am due to graduate a ADN program May 2024. I would like to apply to residency programs in the Atlanta area. My dream specialty is ICU. Are there any tips anyone could give me as far as gaining a position in the ICU at any hospital in the Atlanta area? I've applied to Grady, Emory, Piedmonts so far as they all have their new grad residency applications open. Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Ensure that you have your senior practicum or externship hours in the ICU. ATL hospitals are moving towards not even allowing you to interview unless you have clinical hours (~100 hours) in that area. If you have then sell yourself on the interview, shadow the unit and good luck
I've had three interviews so far.only one person asked if I'll be doing my preceptor in the ICU. All the others unit managers stated to me they know students have every little control of where they do their preceptor hours at. At my school they do make sure you go to the ICU each semester: so I've been 4 times already. I have yet to receive my preceptor information for this final semester/ thank you for responding.

I'm not sure, it didn't have any specific units.
