ATL Residency Spring 2024

Published

Hi just wanted to start a thread for nurse residencies for Spring 2024 in Atlanta. I've applied to CHOA, Emory, Northside, NGMC, and Piedmont. Has anyone else applied or heard anything?

I've had three interviews so far.only one person asked if I'll be doing my preceptor in the ICU. All the others unit managers stated to me they know students have every little control of where they do their preceptor hours at. At my school they do make sure you go to the ICU each semester: so I've been 4 times already. I have yet to receive my preceptor information for this final semester/ thank you for responding.

Hi ! I was wondering if you've applied to CHOA (Children's) I have yet to hear back after the screening. As for Piedmont, what was your interview like, I want to apply soon.

Hi! Are you able to send info for recruiter you talked to?

I have an offer from Northside and from Grady. Does anyone have any tips for choosing a hospital to work at? My interest is women's health.

Hi, I graduate in April 2024 and I have applied to CHOA. I did the video assessment thing but never heard anything back. I also live out of state, so this job would determine if I am able to finally move. I have not gotten any emails or anything since. My application still says "in consideration" and I am not able to contact the recruiters, as they are not replying to my emails. What should I do? I really need this position! Does anyone have a direct email address to any of the recruiters? ? I am really feeling discouraged at this point

Hello!

I am interested in CHOA. Do you mind emailing me the recruiters email?

Specializes in Peds.

Hiii, I wouldn't lose hope, especially if you got to the video part of it. I personally start at CHOA on Monday and will tell you that I felt like I wasn't gonna get reached out to and then after over a month, I had a recruiter reach out to me and get me set up with an interview. Things can still work out, it's just a process with them watching the videos and then reaching out. Just make sure you check your spam and stay on point with your emails. Apply to all the places you can, you got this! I was from out of state too ?

Hello! Honestly, thank you. I needed that. I have been told for so long that I belong in pediatrics. I even currently intern at my local pediatric emergency room. I applied a month ago, I have been emailing the recruiters (their main email I guess) for updates and nothing is happening. ? I am discouraged because I am trying to move to be with my fiance (who lives there) and I am stuck between waiting for CHOA and moving up with my intern 2 position (like residency). I also have to move there to take my NCLEX, as I planned to live there asap after graduation. I wanna be sure I have a job secured before I move. However, this post helped so much. I feel a bit better! I will keep on the lookout for emails, thank you soooo much. Good luck to you! Oh! and how long did it take for you?

I haven't applied there. I only applied to a few piedmonts , wellstar, Emory, Grady and northside hospital.

For those who interviewed and received offers. Can you tell me how long did it take you to receive an offer after your interview.

It was straightforward. They asked why I wanted to be a nurse , why did I chose their hospital, tell me about yourself. And asked if I had any follow questions. Which I had 5 .

I am not from Georgia, so can anyone give me the names of Children's hospitals there? I have been searching for a few, but haven't had much luck. And if they accept new grads/ have a residency program? I have applied to CHOA (was told positions are full)

Today. I emailed student placement who got in contact with a recruiter. The recruiter said that they're full and some units asked them to pause interviews. They said they'd schedule an interview when there's an opening I was waiting too after mine
