ATI Predictor Test Score in relation to Pass/Fail NCLEX

Updated:   Published

My school has us take the 3 hours ATI Predictor Test just before we graduate. The score I got according to ATI says that I have a 91% chance of passing the NCLEX. That isn't so bad for not studying.

I would like to know what percent pass rate people got on ATI and if they passed or failed the NCLEX.

I am a little skeptical about this 91% chance of passing the NCLEX, especially since they recently raised the % you need to pass the NCLEX and I doubt ATI has accounted for this and I don't think that the ATI predictor test is CAT (computer adaptive test) so I dont think it is an accurate test.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Did not take ATI predictor test but I tried taking other predictor test whether I have a good chance of passing the nclex....A few days before im taking the exams I have a result of 65%

So, I've been studying like insane for this ATI since my school is all crazy about it and they're saying: "you don't pass, you're done" whatever! I just want to pass since I have put so much effort into it... has anyone taken this test in the last few days who can tell us what's the 90 percentile was? I mean, example, 70%=90 percentile?

Thanks!

I know this is old, so I don't know if my reply will help, but per ATI these are the correlating scores to percentiles:

% correct on ATI / % Chance of passing NCLEX on first try

82-100% / 99

79.3-81.3% / 98

76-78.7% / 96-97

74-75.3% / 94-95

72-73.3% / 91-93

70.7-71.3% / 89-90

68.7-70% / 85-88

67.3-68% / 82-84

65.3-66.7% / 76-80

62-64.7% / 63-73

56.7-61.3% / 38-60

0-56% / 1-36

I took the ATI predictor in July and had a 95% pass rate for the NCLEX. I took the NCLEX in September. I had 265 questions and failed. I did not study for the ATI because I, like most people on here, wanted an accurate test of what I knew at the time. I did however, study for the NCLEX. I can only say that for me it was not an accurate predictor.

Predictor test, readiness test, or whatever test are overrated. Just keep practicing questions and read the content when you have to.

Oh yeah, one last thing. There is no such thing as "percent" in NCLEX because it's all random and it's either you're ready or not. How would you know if you're ready? It's when you consistently get the prioritization, delegation, and safety and infection control questions (the high level questions) correct. Read and practice, don't rely on numbers.

I am doing ATI and those results do not look accurate. I took my predictor about 1 week ago and the results are as follows:

59-65%/93-98% probability passing

and above 65 you are looking at 98-99% probability passing.

I had 99% chance of passing with ATI, but I actually failed the NCLEX on my first try.

It sounds as though you may be speaking about their practice tests, not the predictor exam.

Did you take the exam administered at your school or through ATI that is 180 questions, 3 hours?

I copied the statistics directly from ATI's breakdown, which is listed in the results report given back to students by ATI.

No not the practice exams, I'm talking about the predictor. I have been doing ATI review course for 6 weeks. And at the end of the predictor the scores are as I typed. I took the 180 question 3 hr predictor.

I took the ATI predictor in August and got a 63, which meant I had a 68% chance of passing NCLEX on the first attempt. My school was against me taking the exam unless I had an 88% or above but I still scheduled the boards anyway. After studying for 2 months (not ATI, I did not find it helpful), I passed with 76 questions.

Hmm. Must be a different predictor exam, as I went back and looked, and the score breakdown for the ATI predictor taken at our school is what I typed previously.

Back to the topic of the thread, I scored a 99% chance of passing on the ATI predictor and passed the NCLEX in 75 questions.

Thats excellent though. But yeah back to the thread. I scored like a 95% probability and I haven't taken my exam yet. But people that have taken there exam passed it. Since you got 75 questions you must have taken your RN. Maybe its different for RN and LPN, because I am doing it for LPN.
