Hello people. Can you tell me how you got your first job? I just gave up searching on the internet and now I need new ways to look for a nursing job. Btw, I'm a new grad.

I feel your pain since we're in the same situation. RN programs are like a lottery and SNF, nursing homes are only hiring experienced nurses. It's possible to get a job if you know someone. Kaya yan....

wow, consider yourself lucky because you already have a job! Anyway, when I was getting around 55-58% correct on my Kaplan qbank, I stopped using it. I focused on the Kaplan RN course book to study basic content and since then I was getting 60-67% and even got 75% and 85%. So try focusing on content and see what happens.

How hard? Hmm. It's harder than getting to a nursing school, finishing nursing school, and taking nclex combined. I'm unemployed here in CA, thinking about moving to other state. But that would cost me a lot and I don't have money.

Mine turned gray at around 225 questions but I didn't fail. I now have my license.

Dont worry about labor and delivery. Questions like that are really rare and it's not really a high level question. Good luck

I personally think Saunders is very easy. I remember the first time I tried it, I got 85% without any review. But that's only my opinion. Anyway, I also thought NCLEX was easy but I must say the questions are unpredictable and out of nowhere. I did 225 questions, took probably less than 45 seconds per question because I didn't wanna think about my answers. I thought 265 questions is a lot of chances to pass and I did pass. There is something harder than NCLEX and that's Kaplan. Kaplan has too many tricks. My average was around 60% which is low compared to Saunders. Since you still have time, try to do questions regarding prioritization, delegation, infection control, and meds. And the most important thing, PRAY and RELAX.

There are two things you need to pass the exam: knowledge on content and good test taking skills. Exam cram will help with your test taking skills because it is very similar to NCLEX. Maybe exam cram wasn't for you. Maybe you need to focus on the content. Anyway, this is just my opinion.

If review books mirror nclex, wouldn't that be too easy? If that happens, we could just memorize the whole content and pass. Remember NCLEX is designed not only to see how safe you are but also to see our competence. That's why they said that NCLEX is a minimum competency test. You pointed out that NCLEX asked crazy questions and isn't anything like the real world. Yes, I guess that's true. But, imagine if NCLEX asked real world questions. That would be crazy. People with a lot of experience in healthcare will have an advantage because they could just rely on their experience to answer the questions. That's unfair for people like me who didn't have a lot of experience in the 'real world' of nursing prior NCLEX.

Do a lot of questions. If you need to study content, read the basic content. I would not suggest Saunders although many people liked it because NCLEX isn't a comprehensive exam so why use a comprehensive book? Most questions are analysis and application which can be learned through practicing questions. Good luck. Pray a lot. God bless.

Anyway, review course is good but it isn't the only option. There are good review materials like exam cram, kaplan strategy book, or nclex 3500 that will help you practice with 'similar' NCLEX type questions.

Most of the questions are prioritization, safety and infection control, delagation, and meds, so how is that not relevant to nursing? You shouldn't be comparing saunders and nursing made easy with nclex because most of the questions in saunders are knowledge based questions while nclex is mostly analysis and application.
