Abusive and Cruel Clinical Instructors: Why??
Some of them are on a powertrip.... Don't put up with it report them to their supervisor and then board of nursing. That will stop the BS...
-
Your definition of good clinical instructor and bad one
you will know a bad one from a good one trust me. If you do get a bad one don't put up with the crap contact their supervisor asap. I put up with mine but told her off in the end. I did it in a professional manor. JUST DON'T PUT UP WITH IT PERIOD. You pay for them to teach you and if they are mean, rude, ect. you aren't getting your moneys worth.

Abusive and Cruel Clinical Instructors: Why??
I too had a bad nursing instructor. She would say are you ready to pass meds when I'd say yes she would be like you don't have the insulin syringe ready what are you going to give it with your finger. The syringe was right beside the pyxis machine so not like I needed to have it out. Then she would try to rush me through pulling up meds and say the pyxis is going to run out of time and error out. One time I had a patient that had abnormal lung sounds so I was like mrs*** you might want the other students to listen to this. Her reply was I John I think they have all heard lung sounds, in a really smart way. I worried and just hated every minute of my clinicals with her, learned nothing, and built a hate for her. My point is this if you are a clinical instructor don't treat your students like crap, you could be their pt or they may be your supervisor someday. Plus you should want to teach them so that they can become an excellent nurse. If you're a nursing student don't let an instructor intimidate you. one you are paying them to teach you, second you deserve better, third you should just report them. One of my friends working on the floor accidently squired some of the insulin out of a syringe and was too nervous to tell her so just gave the lower dose. That puts pt in harms way so just remember that next time you are a total hag to your students. P.S. I told her what I thought. One day at the pyxis machine when I was pulling up insulin, I told her that I was not going to rush and she as a clinical instructor shouldn't want us to rush through a med esp one that can be very dangerous. She was shocked and speachless. If you are the instructor reading this post I really hope you grow up and get over your power trip because your just ruining new nurses and we all think you were a horrible instructor... I've said my peace thanks for reading :) :)

The Nclex is very very hard.
I passed :)
- Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?

The Nclex is very very hard.
I went to a top nursing school and worked in healthcare for 9 plus years. My exam had nothing to do with real world nursing.

NCLEX results pending...,meltdown
I got my results today and I passed. The questions on there had nothing to do with real nursing, just FYI.

Nclex and what to expect
I guess I'm just upset, if the Nclex is prioritization, safety and infection control, delagation, and meds (which it is) why don't the review books mirror the Nclex. The thing that gets me is, if Nclex is designed to make sure we are safe why have such crazy questions because in the real world we will have information at our fingertips by that I mean we will have more than one sign or symptom usually and have access to resourses. I have worked in healthcare for 9 plus years and I just have to say I was very disappointed in the Nclex I really expected better out of my fellow nurses who write the questions.

NCLEX results pending...,meltdown
Let me clarify it is nursing related but don't apply to general nursing. The questions are very tricky...

Nclex and what to expect
I took the Nclex RN today. I got 130 questions that were nothing like the review books i.e. Saunders, nursing made easy, ect. I would strongly recommend a review coorifice. I didn't take one but think it would be helpful. The questions on Nclex are very hard and in my opinion they do not reflect what a nurse should have to know. Let me know what you guys think?

want advice for nclex exam, first timer
I just took my test today and think I prolly failed it. I studied from saunders and other nclex review books. The bottom line is this, they help maybe 25% but 75% of the test is nothing like school questions or the nclex review books. Ya I know the test pretty much sucks and they really need to revise the test to make it actually apply to nursing concepts and floor nursing.

The Nclex is very very hard.
The Nclex is very very hard. It isn't anything like the saunders review questions or any other review books that I've seen. I took mine today 130 ?'s. I felt like I didn't know anything on it. I really think that they need to rewrite the exam to be nursing based, so they can actually tell it someone will be a safe nurse or not.

I took NCLEX TODAY... PASS or FAILED?
I took mine today 130 questions... Ya it really sucks.. the questions weren't anything like the practice questions. I don't have any advise on how to study because they should have never developed a test like this. It doesn't test knowledge or anything to do with nursing in my opinion..

Didn't pass NCLEX RN
I took my Nclex today and am sooo nervous. I really expected more out of Nclex than those type of questions. It had nothing to do with nursing.
