  1. hi there! i am kind of courious how are you doing now. I dont work yet, will take NCLEX RN soon and then I am going to apply for job in NH hospitals. I am wonder how the situation looks like if it comes to hiring new nurses, are there any openings? I heard opinions that NH is kind of hard now... wish you the best and keep us posted!:)
  2. hey I would like to tell you but really dont know. I am in this same position as you, I didnt pass only one time but fell horrible. They say Kaplan will teach you how to read the questions, and I will try their course even is expensive. Sometime I think they give u foreign nurses special hard questions and a lot of them. They just program computer because they know we will have an exam at certain day.And they kick us, try harder than with american girls. Maybe they think that we do injections with one needle only thats why they have to get us and check us..:loveya: dont give up
  3. it is a dark tunnel, believe me..i am educated in Europe and failed nclex. Very difficult, complicated exam. Nurses from Europe dont have to have this kind of knowledge, doctor has to have it. Even I will pass the exam in few months (i am going to reapply) I am not sure the hospital will hire me, I am ready for more obsticles in the future. But try! This is only my story
  4. This is not true. I am not BSN just RN and got approved by CA board of nursing in 2004
  5. that's strange. I was educated in Poland and California and New Hampshire approved my education... keep asking them why.
  6. hi i am reading your email...i am foreign educated nurse, trying to practice here. I didnt pass the first time nclex but will try more. But it is not about me.. Be careful practicing nursing in to be politically correct in "these" countries. The law is strict. If you didnt hear the story of 7 great nurses and one doctor from Bulgaria search the web. They were working in Libya and accused of things they never did. The whole process took 8 years and all this time they were sitting in prison without the verdict. After 8 years they were sentenced to death, but their got amnesty from someone. Just a horror. so be careful
  7. hey dont worry so much.I am also foreign edicated nurse and I failed. The exam is really hard and crushing. What state are you living?
  8. hey everyone thank you so much for all your posts!! I tought I will crash the computer during exam, was prepared for a war. Well the computer crashed me instead:bugeyes: this time will take course prep and spend more time (more??????) for studying.. \I am sorry to hear about people who take 4 or 5 th time that crazy test. We are not stupid. We just dont know how to read between the lines maybe??? Is there anyone who is from Boston area and would like to prepare together for an exam? Kind of home studying, especialy international nurse? If yes drop me an email! big hug for all of you
  9. hey guys Today I have got a confirmation that I didnt pass the exam. I had 184 questions...I feel sorry but when I left exam on Wed last week I just new I didnt do well. well...i wont give up...i am not stupid...will work harder this time.
  10. my dear i am very happy for you..but we all did this same what you say, this same books, methods, practicing milion of questions...it is nothing new. There is no one solutions for that Maybe it is matter of luck?
  11. hey i know it may be confused..i posted similar email few weeks ago and tought i am crazy but i see there are some people who think like me. another example of differents: Kaplan says about Lithium toxicity 1.5. Over it the patient is dead. Well, according to Drexel and maybe other books patirnt will be fine until 2.0!! go and figure.. by the way i had nclex today. Nighmare. wish you all the best
  12. hey everyone..so I was in real hell. Got 180 question, after 100 my brain and eyes didn't work. I didnt know it may be so difficult...it was a nightmare. Very difficult questions, few calculations, tones of pharmacology that I never heard, not too many sata. I am thinking how much knowledge has to have an american nurse? Some of the questions were an example of taking responsibility off the doctor... Bad feeling and feel very low..
  13. many of different resources give you different lab values. I noticed this same thing, and was driving me crazy. Example? Kaplan NCLEX-RN questions give you answer about Lithium toxicity 1.5. Over that patient will have real life threating problems. If you answer that toxicity begin let say at 1.6 you are in trouble. Ok, how about other resources? Drexel NCLEX-RN online course tells you that Lithium toxicity is at ....2.0!!!!! his is huge difference and dont try to answer this way. I think keep in mind what Kaplan lab values says. They are pretty reasonable and balanced....
  14. yes, questions on NCLEX can be frustrating...just today I had a question from drexel nclex online preparation about seizures. What should you do when patient is in bed and gets seizures? Ok-the corect answer was "loose his clothes". I marked "put him on the side" and then I would loose his clothes. Kaplan book says "loose his clothes" almost in last position, for them it is not that important. They say "put him on the side" Drexel thinks differently. Books and instructions can be sometimes frustrating.
  15. Suzanne-but if someone gets SATA question (and it is not freesbies) and will select let's say 3 good answers, but it didnt select another one that should be selected, then this question counts as a fail? Thanx!
