  1. They might ask you questions about the nursing process, sbar or medication rights. Be prepared for scenario questions, like tell us a time when you had a difficult situation and how you handled it. They will ask you the typical questions like why you want to work here, what can you contribute to this place, and what are you strengths and weaknesses. It took me a full year to find a new grad job. Good luck!
  2. I'm giving up my job offer at Cedars. I got hired by UCSD Medical Center and I can stay close to home! I hope that that this position will be given to someone else.
  3. I was offered a position on 5 West at the Hillcrest campus! They are hiring two new grads on that floor. My start date is June 15th!!
  4. Hey everybody I recently accepted a job offer and wish everyone who is still looking for a job good luck! I would snail-mail hand-written thank you cards to HR, the manager, or anyone else I talked to. I didn't hand in my application face to face with a manager, but I still got a job. I remember reading somewhere that computers scans a person's online application for certain keywords that the employer is looking for. So editing your resume, cover letter, etc., is important. Definitely come prepared, as other users have been saying. Bring all of the papers you need. I also bring a list of questions that I have for my interviewer and take notes during the interview.
  5. I graduated June 2009 and I do have my RN. I am thinking they are first calling the best pick of the group. Did you get to see your interview score? The waiting is killing you, I'm sure. Good luck!
  6. My last name starts with an L =)
  7. I got hired on a Med-Surg floor! I am so relieved...it has been a long 12 month journey since I've graduated to get a job. Good luck to everyone else!
  8. Not sure if anyone applied to the Kaweah Delta Critical Care Internship, but I just got a call from HR today. I had a short phone interview with them and was told that calls for interviews will be next week.
  9. I'm so glad that other people had short interviews with the directors! The director who interviewed me was concerned about my patho and physio grades, so I'm worried. For the interview with the manager, I saw that the grading sheet had a section for total points (I got 66, but I have no idea what the total is) and a scale from 1-5, 5 being highly recommended to the program. For the life of me, I can't remember the start date of the new grad program. Does anyone know? All I remember is that we need to have our licenses at the beginning of July.
  10. Did anyone else have a very short interview with the directors? I would say that my interview with a director lasted less than five minutes. I'm not sure what to make of it, because I felt that my interview with a manager was strong! I was told to wait 3-4 weeks for a reply.
  11. So it sounds like you are getting an invitation for the 2nd round interview without getting a 1st round phone interview? I would say try to reschedule the other interview if you can.
  12. I just received an email this evening that I am moving on to the next part of the interview process! It is on Friday May 21st as other posters have said. Cross your fingers everybody, and keep checking your inboxes!
  13. I applied to St. Joseph's in Eureka. I have not heard back from them at all though. Did they call you in for an interview?
  14. No, that wasn't a phone interview...I interviewed in-person. I guess if you getting a phone interview since you aren't local, that those will the types of questions you will get.
  15. I had my interview this morning. The human resources person who interviewed me was very friendly. She just asked basic questions, like what are your strengths?, etc. She said the online application was posted for only four days because they already had 2000 apply. There are about 300 people coming in for interviews, and by the end of the month we will know if we get a second interview with a nurse manager. Good luck to everybody!
