ASU Summer 2010 Program Applicants

Published

Hello, everyone!

I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time. :uhoh3:

I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. :( Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year :banghead:.

Regardless, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! :heartbeat

What scores are you all applying with?

Wait, how would our tuition go up on May 7th due to Prop 100 not passing? The election isn't even until the 18th! :uhoh3: I'm confused...

Haha you beat me to it! But yeah I imagine it would have an effect on Falls tuition. I am very much against the idea of increasing taxes, but I think I just might vote for this one. Gotta find my registration card and stuff because we probably won't have much time from when we get out until ballots close so might even have to find one closer to school than where I live.

if you go to this website you can request an early ballot and they send them to your house with a prepaid envelope so you don't even have to go anywhere to vote!

hey guys! im in d8! airborne, looks like youre not alone afterall haha.

yay for d8! i was beginning to feel like an outsider haha. look forward to working with you this semester.

hi,

i'm actually the girl who asked about the book list. i'm in group d10.

so, i found out some more news today...

1. the downtown asu bookstore told me that they'll have enough books for everyone. they said that they don't take pre-orders. you'll be able to purchase these books in early may.

2. financial aid has posted.

...

i have been told that it may be possible to apply for loans through banks (but i don't think they'd loan you anything unless you had collateral). so, if anyone has any ideas then please pass them on.

anyway, i'm sure i'm totally over reacting and that things will work out but i am super freaked!

see ya! (hopefully! :crying2:)

hey there! was nice to meet you the other day. thanks for the heads up on the finaid. i about died when i saw how much they were offering. i didn't think it would be nearly that much. but i wouldn't worry about anything. like yay nursing mentioned you can always do the student loan through the bank. i was considering that but since finaid came through i don't think i'm going to go that route. but don't stress about anything. you'll figure it out and hey you got in an it wont be that much longer until its all going to pay off!!!

so has anyone else accepted their financial aid yet? they also offered me the $2000 grant but it wouldn't let me select it to accept it; just the loans.

thanks! i want to look in to this and make sure it gets counted right away. i know for the national elections, they don't even count the mail-in ballots unless its close and there's a recount.

yes i accepted mine! and from what it looks like they automatically select that you accept the grant. so you don't actually have to do anything to accept that one! i was extremely surprised at how much they offered too! a lot of weight off my shoulders! :) looking forward to working with you too!

Alright I'll keep ya posted. As for your grant does it show the $2000 in the total of what you've accepted? Because it wont let me select it and shows $9,168 accepted of $11,168 offered!?! I might just give them a call here.

hmmm... yea maybe call them. mine is included in what i have accepted

I called financial aid and they said the grants usually are automatic, but otherwise check back next week to accept it.

Hey guys,

Looks like my financial aid posted too. I'm not sure if I should accept the full amount or not... I'm worried that if I don't, I might end up needing it later? Is anyone else accepting the full amts?
