ASU Summer 2010 Program Applicants

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello, everyone!

I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time. :uhoh3:

I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. :( Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year :banghead:.

Regardless, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! :heartbeat

What scores are you all applying with?

Thanks for the info. I'm considering doing that some days just to save the mileage on my car. But, I think the people coming from Anthem might actually be a tad closer than where I am coming from. At least time wise, they can take the 17 the whole way. It takes me a bit just to get to the 202 San Tan. Well at least its only 16 months.

I am screwed I am coming from Maricopa

WOW! I feel like a total prick now! Here I was complaining about a 17-mile drive that takes like 45 minutes in the worst part of rush hour traffic (without too many accidents)... haha. Wow, I really feel bad for you guys! :( But I guess it is a perk that you'll only have to deal with it for 16 months! :)

I still don't think it has really hit me that I'm IN the program, you know? It doesn't feel quite official yet. I already have my scrubs and stethoscope, too! I figured that would have made it feel more official--I had a fun time parading around in the scrubs at any rate :D! I am SO excited to get started, though! Ahhhh!! :yeah:

Yeah I believe I clocked the drive at 42 miles one way. I would LOVE a 17 mile drive!!! :D

I totally agree with you about it not feeling like I'm in. You are one up on me though. I have not put the scrubs on. Ive mainly just been playing with the stethoscope.

get used to the pants moving in the most awkward ways possible. and being see through. and being completely permeable to any type of fluid.

Yeah I was wondering why, of all colors, they chose WHITE for the pants. I could think of MANY reasons to not have white pants.

They used to have the same color pants as tops, but the nursing students where getting confused with hospital personal with the same maroon uniform. No one had white pants in the hospital.

Hmm... I wonder why hospitals don't do white pants? :p Imagine nursing only 20-30 years ago where they wore the all-whites... :uhoh3:! I'm sure bleach was their friend!

I think the wine and white's look sharp, they're just not very practical for the bodily fluid contact we're going to encounter. Plus, I can only imagine that the see-through-ness makes it slightly awkward at times  haha! I'm definitely going to have to watch what color underwear I wear LOL! :lol2:

Funny thing. Apparel Pro's website has ASU's dress code and it clearly states "no see through clothes" haha ironic.

i exaggerated, of course. the white pants aren't that bad. and they aren't hard to keep clean. the blue pants however are fantastic and i often think i'm in my pajamas while out doing community clinicals

Hey, so when we do clinicals is that during lab time? I'm confused on all of that. How much have you been doing clinicals?
