ASU Post Bacc - 2021

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've created this chain for anyone applying to the ASU Post Bacc BSN program for the 2021 cycle.

A little about me: I've completed all the prereqs and just took the TEAS last month (scoring a 93.3% so if you have any questions/are about to take the TEAS soon please let me know!) I'm 28, originally from CA but now living in AZ, and even though nursing will be a 2nd career it's been a dream job of mine since I was 18. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering if any of you went to the application workshop the Friday before the application deadline? I thought I heard one of the presenters say that we can expect a decision by Oct 1 but now my brain is playing tricks on me and I'm not sure if I'm remembering that information right. Do you all know the date we are expected to receive a decision by?

I did hear both October 1st and early October so I think it would be safe to say around the first week.

anybody working on their titers already?

I did all of the titers about 2 weeks ago, I just need to go get my MMR booster and the annual flu shot since my doctor's office just received them.

Don't be disappointed if that date changes, it happened several times last year where the date kept changing especially with everything going on, things change daily. Hopefully by the first week in October but don't panic if you don't hear anything that week!!

I was told that they are aiming to send the responses out by October 5. Hopefully they’ll be able to get them sent out before that though. On a different note, are any of you guys also applying for the entry level masters program? I’ve tried looking for other people who applied to start next year, but the only thread that I’ve found is from 2019.

Hi everyone!

In regard to the titers, don’t we have to wait to get accepted to receive a code for the castlebranch where we will have the drug screening and background check? I have all my immunizations up to date and CPR. I also just sent in my fingerprints for that as well for that clearance.

Yes, we would have to wait for acceptance to submit everything and do the background test/drug screen. I know that they recommended gathering everything up before that, because they give us less than a month to do so after the acceptance notice is given.

Regarding titers, did you need an order from your physician for it to get covered by insurance or did you just go straight to the lab? Or, does ASU health services accept insurance as well?

I did my titers at ASU Health

Did your insurance cover it?

Yes, but if you don't have insurance it's not very expensive

I did it through my insurance. I called my primary care physician and he wrote a prescription that I picked up and took with me to Labcorp to get them done

Does anyone have a copy of the physical form we need filled out by our physician? I'm getting the physical done on the 5th and I noticed that the requirements state a specific ASU form needs to be filled out but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I had mine ordered through CVS Minute Clinic. They basically sent me to the lab with an order for all of the titers. It was all covered by insurance.
