This is insulting. Its for a medical assistant, not a nurse. But still?!?! I'm 30, but wow this feels like an insult!

Edit: Please edit title to sound better...oops.

Specializes in Hospice / Psych / RNAC.

Yes folks; they can't do that, it's against the law. It is illegal to ask your age when considering employment.

Know your rights!

No need to feel insulted by this poorly composed and poorly written ad. I wouldn't give it the time of day. I honestly pictured a junky looking for someone to help with his habbit, while reading this.

Funny I was thinking the same thing!

I may becoming a PCA and will have to learn to draw blood. When I looked on Google for some tips on venipuncture I came across a boat load of heroine junkies doing the same!

simplyhired.com is another job search site - you can plug in your area, number of years experience, etc. Has anyone here landed a job through simplyhired? I'm considering using that site after I obtain my RN licensure.

I just don't feel comfortable applying for jobs on craigslist - seems it would be too easy to be scammed.

Some legit jobs can be found on craigslist, but your mileage will vary according to your location. There is absolutely nothing where I live, but I can find some decent sounding ads in nearby cities. In larger cities/metro areas, you'll be able to find more of a selection. You'll also have to wade through more garbage too!

The worst that I found on craigslist:

WANTED: ENEMA NURSE

"Male seeking a nice kind and very caring female ENEMA NURSE / PRACTICAL NURSE / PSW / NURSES AIDE / CAREGIVER who would administer nice warm water enemas to me for good holistic health and relaxation. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Please email me with your phone number and email address and the best time to call you. Thank you so kindly!"

While I have no problems giving someone an enema, this just sounded pervy to me. Definitely not what I went to school for!

Specializes in LTC, Memory loss, PDN.

good for a laugh ' though, never thought I'd see "nice" and "enema" in the same sentence

I came across this ad too and was laughing so hard! That is just disgusting!

The original craigslist posting has been flagged for removal. I tried to view the ad in question and found this announcement instead. OP, can you or someone else who saw it recall what it said? Would like to know. Sounds like something important for readers to beware of. Thanks!

Specializes in Peds(PICU, NICU float), PDN, ICU.

Sorry. I guess I should have copied and pasted it. Basically it was an ad for a Medical Assistant. They said they were looking for someone under the age of 35.

Specializes in acute care med/surg, LTC, orthopedics.

I would call him just to say... you can shove that thing up your own butt.

I can still view the original ad on my computer. It said:

I've seen similar ads on craigslist that listed not only age restrictions, (if I recall correctly), but requesting the applicant to send a picture of themselves and/or making a statement about physical appearance. I never take a craigslist ad seriously unless the name of the employer is provided or I can identify them through the phone number. Blind ads don't get a second look.
