Army Reserve OML FY2017

Hello!

I am starting this thread separate from another thread that has been posted on numerous times. I recently heard from my nurse corps recruiter that they would soon be pulling selected people off the OML and commissioning them within the next couple months or so. We are currently half way through the fiscal year and this is apparently when the army starts to make decisions on their current needs to complete the army nurse corps new officer spots for that year. Just a reminder, the OML list is made of officer candidates that were selected to commission but were not offered a spot at that time. As I recall, there were a decent amount of us in this position after the November and December boards! I personally am on the OML list after the December boards for a 66H and am from the Nashville, TN area :)

If you leave a comment below, you will get updates when others post on here! Feel free to share anything you hear from your recruiters, peers, etc.

Good luck to all!

I had a med waiver also. My waiver was not reviewed/approved until after I was selected/OML'd. However, they did review the reason I need one and that had to be approved before they would let me go to MEPS. That took around a year (or a little more) but I was finally approved for a physical. Its a process... Aggravating part for me: After all was approved to go to MEPS, they found out all the paper work they were doing for the past year for approval was not needed because I was prior service. What all that had to do with anything, who knows.. Hope all goes smoother for you than it did for me.

Marine7, I really appreciate your responses. I'm curious to whether or not USAR (USAREC) has waiver approval authority? Seeing as that is where my packet sits as we speak. I realize all we can do is speculate, but was curious to get your opinion. Thanks in advance

Has anyone heard any new news? I am also on the OML List for Florida. Lost my recruiter so I am waiting to talk to a new one. :(

Coming off the OML!

Mbabs84,

Sorry for the delay,, I don't know who has waiver authority. Mine was sent in but not reviewed/approved until after the board met.

Thanks Marine7. I guess my only follow up would then be when/how often are the boards scheduled? I can't seem to find any information online about FY17 DA Reserve Boards. Thanks in advance

The FY18 board meets October 31st. Packets are due mid to late September. You need to call your recruiter and find out if you are to be boarded and then waiver reviewed. Spots fill up fast and you do not want to miss this board........

Marine7, thank you so very much that has been the most helpful information I have received to date. I was unaware of that order of things. Very helpful post. I guess it is possible that, that is what I am waiting for. we shall see.. Thanks again Marine7

Would that be Oct 31 of this yea for 2018? Thanks

That would be correct!

I was told I may be coming off the OML for the Army (Florida) to be commissioned but it has not been finalized yet. I should know within 30 days. Fingers crossed!!!

That's great, Deenp19!!!! I was told a couple of weeks ago. However, my physical ran out and now I have to go back to MEPS before I can commission. Hoping to find out physical date this week.
