  1. Well my initial entry would be into a CSH Unit near where I live. Which is fine by me. FST or FRST looks awesome and may be something to strive for later on.
  2. Thank you everyone for the responses! My med waiver is being sent up this week. been working on this since june of this year, my recruiter is high speed so im keeping the faith. we havent talked much about which board I would be up for not sure there are any left for 2019. looking to eventually get into a FST or FRST now. anyone know how to make this happen?
  3. thanks for the responses. I am a CCRN 6 year exp. ICU/ED and have been working with recruiter for a few months now. hes really good. waiting on waiver now. I saw DCC is 18 days or maybe 26, website I found was confusing.
  4. 66S Reserve side applicant here. My recruiter has told me there is a large mission for year 2020 on the critical care front i.e. icu and ed. Anyone know when the 2020 boards are and any further info on dcc and bolc-b lengths content etc. thanks mike
  5. Same board for Reserves?
  6. October/November was given to me here on this forum. Anyone know anything about that board that commenses in 48 hrs? What kind of timeframe after the board meets will I be notified yay or nay? Thanks in advance. Last thing how much weight would a retired 2 Star have insofar as the application process. Thanks
  7. little update. I misstated that a retired officer had submitted my application independently. he did submitted it via a healthcare recruiter. the board previously mentioned, if I am to assume that I am going on on that (purely assumption), when would I hear something to the positive or negative? I realize this method of application may be unfamiliar with the participants of this forum but I was assured it was submitted legitimately I just haven't had much of a follow up. again 7 months, I have to feel they wouldn't keep me in the dark if they could just say NO. thanks in advance
  8. Well that actually answers my question. Bottom line I have to wait to know. I think I'm waiting for the board in Oct/Nov FY18. Hopefully someone will contact me after that and let me know.
  9. When I say it was submitted through a retired officer brokered the submission of the packet through USAREC. I have been waiting 6 months. Last he had heard it had ascended by way of the 2nd Recruting Brigade, to the USAREC Command Surgeon. But seeing as though this route is unfamiliar to the group it is a moot point. I wish everyone well. Thanks
  10. Placed a phone call to the 1st Medical Recruiting Brigade. They weren't able to look me up because my packet wasn't submitted through them. My application was submitted by a retired Officer and thus would be in the system. If a packet was submitted in the context that mine was then it can go right to the board (fy18, 31Oct - 2Nov previously memntioned in this thread) prior to the requisite waiver being approved/denied. This is what I was explained yesterday. This sound accurate to anybody? Appreciate the feedback in advance. Thank you.
  11. I did shoot an email off last week. waiting to hear back. appreciate the help. thanks
  12. alright well then based on that, the fact that I was told it was at USAREC means nothing more than its being evaluated for approval/denial?The length in time this is what is perplexing to me. Seems like a "no" would be an easy, quick response and not take 4+ months to hand down. This October board FY18 has nothing to do with the duration of my wait time either? Thanks Mike
  13. anchorRN, thanks for the reply and your service. I've been told that sometimes, maybe due to the fiscal year cycle, the waiver comes after being boarded. is this something that you've heard of? That is the only theory I've come across that would validate a wait time of now in excess of 4 months. The avenue by which it made its was to USAREC (believed to be the waiver authority) seemed pretty streamlined so I have to think getting lost would be as prevalent. But who knows. Thanks in advance for your time.
  14. Would that be Oct 31 of this yea for 2018? Thanks
  15. Marine7, thank you so very much that has been the most helpful information I have received to date. I was unaware of that order of things. Very helpful post. I guess it is possible that, that is what I am waiting for. we shall see.. Thanks again Marine7
