Army nursing board met on Tuesday, Nov. 17th and I guess we should expect to hear from them today. Anyone else went up for the Nursing board and if so have you heard anything? I hope we all get accepted. I am excited and really want to go to OBLC in either the February or March class, if I am accepted, because I heard the summer's are brutal. I hope by the end of the day we will all have good news!!!
I spoke to my recruiter last night, and she is also frustrated. She said next to my name it says it has been submitted to board and board results are pending. Her boss doesn't even know why things are taking so long. Its crazy. He said it has never taken this long. He has only experienced 10 days at the most past the board commence date which was the 30th for us. Meaning we should of heard something on Monday. Air Force and Navy have released their results. I don't know what is holding the Army. Frustrating!!!

There is long waiting and frustration all around right now
From what my recruiter told me this past Wednesday, the boards are running WAY behind. Normally the board meets twice a week every month for one week. Apparently they are so far behind that they are continuing to run. From what I was told, the board that is meeting now is selecting the last group of active duty nurses before the hold ( there are going to be no slots for active duty nurses for a while) From what I was told they are still accepting nurses into the reserves. I started this process back in June. It has been one thing after the other... My application finally went to the board December 1st so now the waiting begins.... AGAIN
THIS. IS. SO. FRUSTRATINGGGG! lol welcome to the life of the Army!
I talked to my recruiter on saturday.. he said that there's 100 of us boarded and only 70 get the ANC positions. He's never had it take this long to get the results but will tell me when he hears any sort of word. They can't access our packets cuz they're on lockdown.. NICE. haha Hurry up and wait...
The December Board supposedly met on December 1st according to my recruiter. I guess we either were boarded in the November or December board. So frustrating!!! I wanted good news for Christmas. It's taking so long if we do get picked up I guess many of us will have to endure the OBC Texas heat. Which I hear is hot as hell:angryfire. I'm kind of totally scratching off the wishlist the ability to attend OBC in February or March. I preparing myself for the Texas heat.
Raki,
I heard the same thing that the board started again Dec. 1. I was also told that they are not in session the two weeks before Christmas but Im not sure how accurate that is. All that being said perhaps we will have answers the end of this week or the first part of next week. Although I'm not sure I will have any response as my packet didn't get boarded until December 1st and from the sounds of it they are still working on packets from back in November... I don't know. It's a long process and then if you have to get an re code or any other type of waiver, its even longer.... we shall see.
I confirmed with the recruiter today, the board that is currently meeting is scheduled to end Friday. The next board will not meet until 4 Jan 2010. So hopefully they are going to try to clear all the pending packets that they have right now. Maybe we will all hear something by the middle of next week...

It is awful and frustrating. I don't understand why we haven't heard anything yet. Has anyone spoken to their recruiter?
