Arizona College

Does anyone have any feedback regarding Arizona College? The cost seems OUTRAGEOUS but I do like the idea of completing my bachelors in 3 years.

Hi!!! Sorry I don't have any feedback regarding Arizona College...but I do have an appointment with them this week to get more info in the program. I agree with you that the cost seems outrageous...on the plus side, I will hopefully be allowed to transfer a good portion of my community college credits to allow me to finish sooner with less cost.

The plus side to them is that there is no wait list. I submitted my application in to maricopa community colleges in September of 2016. I just emailed the placement people to see if they have a rough estimate...they told me it looks like I may be placed for Fall of 2018!!!! I don't want to wait until then to be placed. My other option in their CEP programs, but again who knows how long the actual waitlist is...the placement people said usually one to two semesters. So if I can finish my pre-reqs by may, there is a possibility for a spring 2018 start.

I have also looked in to other places (Like GCU) but was told by a transfer counselor that I would need to take 24 credits with them to even qualify for their nursing program...even though I already have taken pre-req courses elsewhere.

Long story short, I am sick of waiting and looking at other options, as it seems I could literally be done with my BSN at Arizona college before even being allowed to start at community colleges.

Stepping off the soapbox now

Did you ever visit Arizona college? Still looking for info! :)

I did visit...and was underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, the campus seemed nice and all staff I encountered were pleasant. With that said, after taking out a poop-ton of student loans, I would still need to pay approx $30K out of pocket to attend!!! (I am married with no children and we make an OK income, so I don't qualify for any "special" funding.) My long term plan is one of two...depending upon which may happen first. Option 1.Ideally will attend one of Maricopa's CEP programs. This will allow me to graduate with my BS in 2-3 years while still making it affordable. Option 2. If my regular nursing app gets accepted sooner than my CEP app, I will just do the "regular" Maricopa Associates program, but will either go into the CEP mid-way or graduate with my Associates then proceed to work on my BS. Either way, both routes are about $70K less than attending Arizona College!! Wanderlust, what area of the valley do you live in?

I'm in Gilbert. I have 3 prereqs to finish before I can apply and I'm having an awful time getting them done since I work full time. I've even flirted with the idea of taking LPN and then LPN to BSN bridge at UOP. I'm feeling a little discouraged. I just wanna get this show on the road!

Oh, I hear ya!!! Even the LPN bridge has a 1-2 semester wait!!! Is there a way to message you on here? There are a few suggestions I can offer...
