Just curious how wide spread this is.New to me but I'm also new to the acute care world. Basically, floor nurse raises will be based on how much money our unit earns from our patient satisfaction scores.
I don't love this, it is a little like when servers have to pool tips...
That's ridiculous, but not surprising. I'm imagining a five cent raise for being in the top five percent ...just to add insult.
one of our many items we are evaluated on is customer service which kind of includes patient satisfaction but not directly linked to the surveys they receive after they are discharged. i do not think it is fair to base your raise on patient satisfaction because there are many contributing factors to that and many are out of our control as nurses (food being incorrect or late, visitor policy being broken, pts being moved in the middle of the night, the clerk was rude to the patient's daughter, the temperature in the patients room is too cold or too hot). if multiple patients complain about a certain nurse then i think it should be taken into account when yearly raises are evaluated.
