Are there any nursing schools that don't require the NET or TEAS??

Published

Hi everyone!!!

I was just wondering if there are any nursing schools that don't require the NET or TEAS to get in??? So far, I only found that alot of Washington state nursing schools don't require either of them. Would appreciate the info, thanks alot!!:D

Specializes in CNA.

I'd say pretty much every school requires them. They aren't very difficult (at least I didn't think so), except for the math part (I'm horrible at math though).

most schools do. San francisco State does not but I am pretty sure they will in the near future.

University of Arizona didn't, but they are very competative. GPA, service and interview all count....

Specializes in non-animals.

Just went to the University of San Francisco orientation and they don't require either test for their BSN program......

Le Moyne College/St. Joseph's College of Nursing. St. Joe's requires a math test, but it's pretty short and simple.

Others:

D'Youville College

SUNY Buffalo

Nazareth College

Specializes in Oncology/Hematology.

SFSU still doesn't require either test. However all students accepted have 3.8+ GPAs and have completed on average 2 of the 3 "optional criteria".

Fierce competition!

Thank you guys so much for all of your replies!!! I really appreicate it all of you taking the time out to answer my questions!!! Thanks again!!! :wink2::wink2:

I would think twice about applying to a school that DOESN'T require a pre-admission test. Think of it this way, schools want to find capable, intelligent students that are able to use logic and reasoning to figure out solutions/issues as a nurse. Me personally, I would want to attend a school with a higher standard of acceptance for its applicants to ensure that I am getting a good education, with the reputation of the school behind me as well once I graduate. It DOES matter what school you've graduated from whenever you're looking for a position in nursing...at least it does in Pennsylvania. Just my :twocents:

Specializes in Critical Care, Clinical Documentation Specialist.

The University of Colorado does not require either test for their BSN program. They are highly competitive so you must have a good GPA and write a good essay. They have three of the top 10 Master's programs in the country, so their overall nursing school must have something going for them.

St.Petersburg College in Florida doesn't. They have you take a placement test when you apply to the college...it's easy. There is no TEAS or anything like that. They are highly accredited.
