  1. Virgo RN, Could you tell me which facilities I could work at alone without a CNA or Patient Care Tech??? Thank you
  2. Hello all, I was wondering if all RN's have to have a CNA or Patient Care Tech working under them??? I have heard horror stories of RN's getting in trouble because of CNA's or PCT's not doing their job and the RN's getting in trouble because of it??? What field could I get into where I don't have to have a CNA working under me??? I really like to do work myself and not rely on anyone else to do things that I am responsible for!! Thank you for your time!!
  3. Don't worry about your age!!! 24 is still very young and if you feel you need to start out being a CNA, then go for it!!! You can do anything you put your mind to!!
  4. Thank you guys so much for all of your replies!!! I really appreicate it all of you taking the time out to answer my questions!!! Thanks again!!! :wink2::wink2:
  5. I definitely agree with you!!! I will wait for a nursing program that is better established than Herzing!!! It's alot of mis-information to me.
  6. Hi everyone!!! I was just wondering if there are any nursing schools that don't require the NET or TEAS to get in??? So far, I only found that alot of Washington state nursing schools don't require either of them. Would appreciate the info, thanks alot!!
  7. marisao13, I am currently attending Lake Sumter Community College in Florida....They only offer the nursing program once a year in the fall so when I'm done with my pre-reqs, I will apply to Valencia Community College and Florida Hospital College because they offer the program three times a year.... I wish you the best of luck in choosing your school and I'm glad that you will check out Herzing first before you commit to it....Please let me know how things go!!! Take care!
  8. marisao13, Are you ready for this????? The program at Herzing University is 24 months long including your pre-reqs, The total cost will be about $39,000....They have day and evening schedule, but she told us that since you focus on one class a month on your pre-reqs and if you choose a day class, sometimes you will have to go at night class if the professor chooses to teach for example: English at night!!! That sucks!!!! Once you get into the nursing program, you do not get to keep your nursing books, they are the property of the school!!! I think that it's ridiculous since the school is so expensive, you would think you get to keep your books. Clinicals could be at any time at any hospital, you have to go where they tell you....The hours could be 3am-11pm, 3pm-11pm, 7pm-7am, etc....Clinicals can be during the weekday and weekend.....I was not impressed by Herzing when she told us all of this...It is regionally accredited, but I think it's too expensive and they accept 25 students twice a year and their slots are never full and I see exactly why. Again, this is my opinion, I think you should go to the session and see if you like it....One more thing, they have already changed over to the TEAS test and I think you have to make at least a 65 on it, once you pass you have 2 weeks to get all your paperwork together, ex., background check, shots, records....
  9. Wow!!! Good luck to you!!!!! I wish you the best and I know you will be starting in January....You go girl!!!
  10. I know you are so excited to be starting soon!!! I can't wait to feel that excitement for myself....Good luck, I know you will do great!!!
  11. Thank you so much nurz2be!!! I appreciate the encouragement....I attend Lake Sumter right now and I will continue to do my pre-req's here...I asked if they were going to change over to the TEAS test and they told me that are keeping the HESI entrance test....That's good news for me....I heard the TEAS is extrememly hard..... Anyway, thanks again!!!
  12. That's great!!! Congratulations!!!! What was your GPA if you don't mind me asking???
  13. Does anyone know exactly how long the wait list is for Valencia Community College??? I know they accept 120 students in the fall and spring and 80 students in the summer....I was thinking of applying there when I finish my pre-reqs and since they accept 320 students a year, I would think my chances would be good, do you???
  14. Well you guys I missed the NET by 1 point!!!! I got a 69, and I needed a 70... It sucks, but it did make me realize that I do NOT want to go to Keiser University (Orlando)...Instead of encouraging me to take the NET again, my counselor was trying to get me to consider another field..(Occupational Therapy Assistant)...Can you believe that??? No way, I will take myself and my money elsewhere!!!!
