Healthcare systems in Texas major metro areas have already made the transition - acute care jobs are limited to BSN grads. ADN jobs are increasingly limited to non-acute & LTAC. The exception would be for experienced ADN nurses who have mad skills in a hard-to-fill specialty. There are still ADN new grad opportunities in smaller Texas cities.
Not necessarily true I was born and raised in Austin Texas and the hospital here still very much hire new grad ADN's pay isn't all that great and some healthcare systems require you to receive your bsn 30 months from your hire date but not all and you can still get hired with your ADN I have my ADN and have worked numerous places..
I live in Austin Texas. I started out with my ADN, worked for a few years then went back to get my BSN. If you want to work in a major hospital you will have to get your BSN eventually. Otherwise you can a job with your ADN. I still think getting your BSN is a wiser choice. BTW Austin is becoming so huge with an abundance of people. I am not in this position, but I have colleagues who are and they tell me they are having a hard time finding employment. Crazy!!

I am contemplating on whether I should stay in Louisiana or move to Texas to apply for jobs. I am concerned about the job offers in Texas (specifically Austin, TX) because I am looking into the ADN route. Any suggestions, thoughts, etc? Please and thank you!
