ARC/SCC ADN FALL 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi Everyone!!! I didn't see a thread for Fall 2019, so I figured I'd get the ball rolling. This is my first time applying to both SCC and ARC. I turned in my paper packets on 2/11 and 2/13. SCC updated my status to received this morning. I plan to also apply at Delta, but would really prefer acceptance at ARC or SCC.

Los Medanos in Pittsburg does the same thing as far as ranking I applied there. From what I heard they get 400 applicants. Solano only gets 150 applicants. There application period is coming up in September. You might have to take their pharmacology though. Napa doesn't get a lot of applicants either but you do need you CNA to apply. Which being an Emergency Dept Tech. I can't find myself to go back and get as of yet. But who knows I maybe preparing to get my CNA if i get rejected this year. Napa's application is by mail time. So if you are the post office at 8 am you are in. There application period is coming up this June.

I'm not sure if that helps any of you but I thought it might be worth putting it out there.

@Pillow2006 I'm so sorry! I understand that feeling! Have you thought about applying to Yuba College? They have a merit based acceptance system. I don't like the idea of leaving things up to my lottery luck so I applied there and got accepted. Since you obviously had the points to apply to arc/ Sierra, you would probably have a good chance of getting in to Yuba.

@Pillow2006 if you have more points than the minimum 70, you probably have a good shot at getting into Delta. I have 78 points, which isn’t great, but I’m hoping that it might put me ahead of at least some people since they choose the majority of their students off of rank. If I don’t get accepted into a program for Fall of 2019, I plan on finishing my last 3 classes during the summer so I have a degree to boost my points for future applications.

Does anyone know when SCC typically sends acceptance/denial statuses?

On the website it states within 8 weeks of the application deadline! Hopefully we all should know within the next two weeks.

8 weeks is next Thursday on the 25th, so we will see, it can be sooner

I've normally seen SCC notify first

Past 3 years Scc has notified between 17th-20th and ARC normally mid to late 20s

If memory serves, they were a couple days late notifying last year. ? hopefully that won’t be the case this year.

Did anyone try applying to LVN at SCC??

I tried, but I couldn’t because they wouldn’t accept Sierra’s medical terminology class as the medical terminology for the healthcare provider requirement ? just a heads up for anyone that’s thinking of going that route and is a Sierra student!

I applied to SCC for LVN. This is my second time applying. I really hope we find out soon.
