Yes! Exceptions were made for some programs. We have lecture online and we can use the sim lab and obviously still go to the hospital for clinical. Actually we are going to finish the semester too (they extended it into Summer to give us time to complete our clinical hours)! The only semester not moving forward now is 1st due to their lack of clinical time.

No, the meeting was to let current students know how we will proceed next semester, which is an unknown at this point. It wouldn’t make sense to admit another 1st semester cohort when they already have one. If they did then in the Spring we would have 5 cohorts, and we simply don’t have enough instructors or clinical spots for 5 cohorts. I know it’s extremely upsetting for everyone. I had to wait 3 application cycles to finally get in and now have to repeat an entire semester. We are all looking for crumbs of info, in fact, I was stalking this thread and had hope for next semester when you all said your applications were being updated to qualified! I thought “there must be hope for us too!”

The director told us yesterday during a meeting that they weren’t going to admit a new cohort in the fall because they needed to focus on current students. Maybe they will pull names for Spring semester in stead? It’s interesting that they’re qualifying students still!

ARC has reinstated our current nursing program, and will continue with our program as scheduled! Hopefully good news for all you waiting to get in as well!

Our semester is cancelled. We will not have class again until the regularly scheduled fall semester begins and we will repeat our entire courses again. Hopefully this is all cleared up by then so we will be allowed back in the hospitals, or we will be in this same situation next semester as well.

ARC nursing students are repeating the whole semester. What this means for an incoming class, I can’t say for sure. This sucks for all of us, the ones in the program and the ones waiting to get in.

current nursing students still don’t know if we are moving on or repeating the semester, they are hoping to make a decision and let us know before Spring break or right after. That 100% will delay when they let you guys know too. They can’t accept another class if we all have to repeat.

No lectures online. Obviously lots of homework and studying, but that’s to be expected. They expect us to teach ourselves a lot of the information. The seminars are just to guide us in our studying. Just because we only have class 3 days a week typically does not mean we have a lot of free time. We all probably study 40-50 hours a week outside of class

It’s not bad at all. We have seminar on campus every Tuesday for 5 hours, clinical Thursday/Friday (6am-3ish), and every third or fourth Monday, we have testing at school from 7:30-9ish.

Hey guys! I’m a first semester student at ARC. To answer some questions posted: they take 40 students a semester. If you’re an alternate, but do not get chosen, you’re not automatically in for the following semester, you still have to reapply (really sucky). For our cohort, they went all the way through the 15 alternates originally selected (I was one of them ?) and then chose another 15 alternates from people they had already sent rejection letters too. Not sure how many were pulled from the second alternate list. The faculty let us know at our orientation that there were more than 500 qualified applicants for the fall cohort. They used to list the statistics of how many applied and how many were chosen every semester, but they haven’t done that in a year or more. If you apply more than once, they don’t throw your name in twice (like they also used to do), you always have the same chances of getting in. Good luck guys! I know the wait is excruciating, I did it 3 times before finally getting in. Hang in there!

Hey there. They get slightly less applicants in the spring than they do the fall. This last application cycle I heard they got around 400 applications, but they don’t publicize how many they get anymore like they used to. Our cohort has 40 students, and they choose 15 alternates as well. Good luck!

Thank you so much! It has been a LONG time coming! I think I have had 12 total rejections the last 2 years, so I am SO thankful for the opportunity. I will definitely make the most of it!

I just got the email that I have been moved from the alternate list to the class roster for arc!!! Woohoo!
