APU ELM Summer 2015

U.S.A. California

Hello!

I don't see a thread for prospective students for Azusa Pacific University's ELM program for the Summer 2015 start so I decided to start one.

I am Vanessa and I am just about to send in my complete application packet this week. I am early though since the deadline is not until 1 July.

I hope we can support each other and update each other as we move through the process of applying/interviewing/admittance!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Moved to state forum. Please keep specific school threads in state forums....otherwise no one even knows where the school is located. Thanks.

I also applied and went through the advising session. Did you happen to go through it yet? or hear back??

Hi Penny23! Finally someone found this thread...I think that this is generally a smaller applicant pool than the fall and spring classes so maybe that is good for us? I Also went through the advising session but have not heard anything yet. Is this the first program you are applying to? It is the first application I have submitted and my first choice so it is a bit of pressure!

I sure hope it is a smaller pool! I am so nervous about hearing back! Did they tell you they are letting us know the end of August? I've applied to a bunch of other schools, but I really want to go to APU. How did your interview go? Mine was over the phone. Can I ask how many points they gave you? I kind of want to email and find out how many I received as they didn't tell me how many points I got for the essay portion.

Hello All, I have been accepted into the Summer 2015 cohort, although I originally applied for Spring 15. Good-luck to all of you!

I will have the advising session next 2 weeks. Any suggestions or recommends? AUP is my 1st school to apply. Will they let us know that we are accepted after the interview or we have to wait until August or September? Thank you and hope to see your feed back soon

The advising session is not bad at all. She will ask you why you are interested in becoming a nurse. The rest of the session is spent discussing the program and outstanding pre-reqs.

Most student will hear back about a month or two after the deadline.

Some students will find out sooner.

I hope this helps!

Hi Fefe88! First off, congrats on getting accepted!

Thank you for letting me know about this post after posting on my original posting. I have not yet submitted my application for Summer 2015, but since the deadline is right around the corner, I will submit it within a day or two. Can I ask how you approach your letter to dean? Is it like a personal statement? Is there a specific format for the letter to dean? Sorry for asking several questions! I want to make sure I am doing it correctly prior to turning in my application. I would greatly appreciate you help! :) Thanks.

Hi Seebella,

Thank you & your welcome! In my letter to the dean, I discussed experiences in my life that has led me to want to be a nurse. I also discussed what my plans are once I complete nursing school. I didn't address the letter to the dean, however I did type "letter to the dean" in the upper left hand corner. Please let me know if you need help with anything else.

Thanks so much Fefe88! I am going to turn in my application by tonight :nailbiting:

Thank you Fefe88 for the info and i really appreciate it. Did she ask you to write something during the advising session?
