Per the request of janina08 I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :)
Did anyone take an NCLEX review course and if so what did the teacher say?
Mine said that we don't need to know that there are two arteries and one vein in the umilical cord because it wasn't on the test (for NCLEX-PN please let me know if I"m wrong and you had it on the test). haha but I will never forget that one! During clinicals the nurse I was with in OB rotation asked me how many and then showed me on the newborn baby cord stump where they were. She said that when a baby is born the nurse needs to check if all three are there.
She also said that the rule of 9's is not on the test. (again this was NCLEX-PN we were preparing for)
Anyone else told what to study? What NOT to study?
I'm taking the test April 15th. Can we update the list? :)
goodluck!! hang in there!! the nclex is not all that difficult as its made out to be!! in fact it is the same kind of questions that we see on all those question banks out there especially kaplan...i had a question which was very similar from the kaplan qbank..just go over areas you are weak in...the last few days before my test i brushed up on content like labs, meds and specific areas the tests showed me i was weak in...pay close attention to infection control...goodluck again to all of you who will test soon.
due to changes in my husbands work schedule i will be taking the test on april 7th. okay you know i'm freaking out now right? by this time next week i will know if i am a nurse or not.... ok! i am freaking out! seriously!!!:uhoh21:
i was lucky enough to be asked to submit a new question for the NCLEX.. i don't know if it will be an actual question or one of those fake ones that they use... either way... i thought it was pretty cool...
if anyone has any questions about the NCLEX.. im pretty good @ it..
drop me a line... i will try to help ya out~~
