Applying to UCLA MECN to start Fall 2015?

Hi! Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program? Last year I applied and wasn't accepted. I believe they accepted around 12%. They had 70 spaces down from 90 the previous year.

diversity just comes easily to me because i grew up overseas and speak multiple languages, but i did not know about the diversity statement.

i don't see the diversity statement anywhere. i already submitted my application. too late i guess...

The diversity statement is separate from the SOP. I looked at the statements as 2 completely separate requests; the SOP more emphasizes what drove you to seek a nursing degree and the diversity statement is your chance to tell UCLA how your experiences will contribute Specifically to their mission of diversity. Tuition is not as high as many other institutions but the diversity fellowship is a great help to candidates that qualify.

@lagirl_1989 the diversity fellowship app and statement is submitted with your application. If you submitted your app, it is too late to apply.

Best of luck to all of us! ? I just got an email from UCLA the other day saying my application was received and is complete. The email also said we would be hearing about admission decisions beginning in March and going through April. It's definitely going to be hard to wait that long ?

I've been told that a lot of the current MECN students (fall2014) received the fellowship. But this for next year there only limiting to under 10. Can anyone verified this?

In the application, under Academic History, did anyone also list the community colleges where you took prereqs after getting your bachelor's?

Yes, I listed the community college where I did some of my prereqs under the academic history section. I also scanned and attached a copy of my transcript from that school.

GunRockAggie heres the link to the recipients of the fellowship https://grad.ucla.edu/asis/entsup/gofpawardees.htm, it looks like only there were 5 recipients in 2014, 7 in 2013, 7 in 2012, 6 in 2011 in nursing.
