Applying to MDC RN Generic Prgm for Fall 08

Stressing! I am applying to MDC RN prgrm for the fall of 08 with a 3.2 and will be taking my last two pre reqs over the summer and GPA will be a 3.5 once i'm done with the summer semester. Not exactly sure how they will decide on whether or not to accept me but I'M TOTALLY ANXIOUS! (have not even turned in my application yet) LoL Someone, ANYONE, pls HELP! There is all this talk about how difficult it is to get into the prgrm and NOW i'm worried i'm not going to get accepted!:uhoh3::uhoh3::o

How was the interview?? What questions did they ask??

I have mine on Monday!!

I need help, yesterday I received a call from Jck Scholars program and I am having the interview next wednesday, I want to know if some one can give me some information about the program, is it good? and after I graduate how is the salary? how are the opportunities?

Please help me!!! I have to make this decision before wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:no:

I am looking like crazy for answers, I am scared of doing a bad decision that is going to affect me for the next 4 years...

I worried about the two years we have to work for then if accepted...I would really like to know how is going to be the salary....

Hi guys...

Well I had my interview with Baptist in Kendall, not Jackson.

If your interview was anything like mine expect a 8 panel interview! They don't ask you any questions pertaining to the "nursing" career persay... it's more about how you would handle a stressful situation. They want to know what kind of person you are, and if you take the stressors of the nursing career. Every1's questions were different. Just be sure to research Jackson because they might ask you if you anything about the hospital.

Don't worry too mcuh about it :p, and don't do practice runs in your head. The only answers that you should think about before your interview is why you want to be a nurse, and what does nursing mean to you.

ABOVE ALL...Just be yourself!!!!!!! :jester: They can smell a fake! So don't mess yourself up by practicing too much and sounding too fake.:D

I heard that jackson pays what other hospitals in the area pay. they're all quite similar. I chose baptist because they were nominated over 8 times by Fortune 500 magazine as one of the top 50 companies to work for in the country. This was important to me because I have to work there for 24 mo after graduation!!:cool:

I received my call from baptist last thursday, but I can't answer the call because I am not allowed to take personal calls at my work..I called back to francoise, but she left her job early. I am going to call this monday,,I have ruined my whole weekend,,,,,,,,,,:(

Good luck to those of you that our going into the scholars program. I just didn't feel comfortable with the 2 year lock up for my self.

Does anyone know if the TEAS test will also be on Science? I've heard that some schools only test math and english. Please let me know what you think..:( I know that it's just to know where the student stands, but I would hate to do bad in it. Nerves are starting to act up!

don't worry NursingForever.. Francois is really nice, and the same thing happened to me when she called me for my interview. She'll be able to help you out. Your interview will probably be on a Wednesday like mine was.

So NUrsingForever, how did it go? Did Francois tell you anything about previous interviewees? She said that we'll know in about 3 weeks, that was last week... What did she tell you about when the notices will be out?

hello tiff2003, my interview was today,, I was really scared. The panel that did the questions was composed by seven women. Nurses, staff, human resources etc,,,I was really nervous because English is not my native language, so I have to do a big effort. Francoise told me that we are going to receive a letter by mail in two or three wees. That we have to register to the orientation normally, and then they dropp off all the classes and then they give us a new schedule. Good luck!!!
