Stressing! I am applying to MDC RN prgrm for the fall of 08 with a 3.2 and will be taking my last two pre reqs over the summer and GPA will be a 3.5 once i'm done with the summer semester. Not exactly sure how they will decide on whether or not to accept me but I'M TOTALLY ANXIOUS! (have not even turned in my application yet) LoL Someone, ANYONE, pls HELP! There is all this talk about how difficult it is to get into the prgrm and NOW i'm worried i'm not going to get accepted!:uhoh3::uhoh3::o

HEY:

I went to my interview yesterday like I told you last weekend and I think I was fine, there were only two people, so wasn't that scared, I am waiting now for the mail with the answer... I am ok with any answer because I have finantial aid, so if I don't make it with the scholars thing, I am going to Medical campus any way.....Good luck and let me know if you get accepted....

Anyone taking th TEAS please note you can go onto ATI website and purchase on online test for $27 good for two attempts that simulates actual test. ALso, TEAS studyguide is availble for purchase from ATI site as well. Good luck. TEAS is not bad. If you study studyguide and take online assessment you will do fine.

Hey Ymarti! I got my letter too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to confess I still have some decision trouble...I still afreid of those two years...

Do we have to pay for the parking everyday?

The intership thing isn't includded in the two years after graduation, right? so how long is this intership? this adds more time working to them...

I don't know, please, if you find out anything, please tell me!!!!

Ah! I don't know how to send you a private message, can you please tell me how you do it?

YSB82,

You can just click 'Reply' on the lower right hand corner of the private message that I sent you, and type in your response, then click 'Submit Message' on the bottom of the message box.

You can also click on 'My Account' and then select 'Create Message' on the drop-down menu. Type in my username in the username box and type your message and click 'Submit Message'.

I'm going to call and get more clarification and let you know. The form makes it sound like we don't have much choice, but from what I was told we can pick whatever area we want to work in as long as there are openings available. And, that we have a choice to work at any of Jackson's branches. I'm in the same position as you, still thinking it over. I don't know what to do!!

Hey! YMarti:

Did you find out anything?

I spoke today with a nurse working at Jackson who knows people that are working the two years after graduation now, and asked her some questios like: are we going to be able to take vacation time while doing this two years after graduation? and she said yes, and if we can be part of the Union, she said yes, also I ask about the two increases they reseive every year and I wanted to know if we are going to have it, and she said yes. She algo said we are going to have all the same benefits as the rest of the nurses there, the only difference is that we are under a contrat, that's it!

I feel more confortable with the idea of accepting the program, I thing I'm going to do it.

What about you????

Thanks Nlion87,

I'm studying from the ATI Testguide and I feel a little better about the test. The online tests sounds like a good idea also.

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much about the TEAS. It's just an assessment to see where you are on a collegiate level, kind of like the CPT. The stuff on there is pretty basic, I think the only people who will have problems with it are people who haven't been to school in years. Even if you have a problem with it, it won't mean you get kicked out, but you might have to an SLS class or something.

Just curious, does everyone have all their stuff done like background check, immunizations, etc.? I still have to do my drug testing and physical. I'll do it next week.

Almost done. Just missing the 2nd TB test reading on the form. I'll get that on Monday. I've got the background test done, received the email confirming it and the drug tests. There sure was a lot to do.

Now I'm just going over the TEAS. I would hate having to do remedial classes.

I'm done with all of my stuff as of today :yeah:. I was waiting on the results of some of my blood-work. I took care of everything ASAP, the only thing I "just" took care of was the BLS course... I took it this past saturday and was given a form to show MDC that it was completed. :smokin:

Ymarti, are you getting the immunizations, or doing the antibody blood work for them? those take about a week for the final results so i would get them done asap. i know the final drug test takes about 3-4 days

Hey! I just finish with all my stuff, drug test, vaccines, everything, I did all my copies allready, someone toll me that you may need copies of everything in the future, so make sure of do it.

See you all in orientation!!!
