Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016

Hello, I am applying to Duke's ABSN program for the fall of 2016 and am wanting to chat with anyone else who is in the same boat! I'm wondering how hard it will be to get in based on GPA, prereqs etc.

Are there any current Duke students who would be wiling to share what their profile looked like before they got in? If they were wait-listed and got in?

Any information would help!

You can ask, but in the past I don't think they gave out numbers (I read through past cohort threads when I was applying). The deadline for paying our deposit is April 13th, so waitlisted candidates should start hearing after that date.

Is anyone else attending the April 8th Duke Day?

Congrats to all who were accepted, and my heart goes out to those who weren't. If you want to reapply, I'm happy to discuss personal statements and whatnot. I'll keep my fingers crossed for those of you who are waitlisted!!

Naa, i think it will be the same letter as yours. Mine is satisfactory completion of Human growth and development psychology.

Conditional admission is still an admission as long as you have a satisfactory performance in your last prereqs & GPA, etc

Congrats to everyone! I got in, too, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to accept MUSC. I'm feeling a little torn.

I know I'd enjoy living at the beach much more (and what could help more with the stress of an ABSN program??), and MUSC also has a stellar program, but...I mean...it's Duke. Didn't think I'd actually get in.

I was waitlisted as well. I contacted Nora today and unfortunately the waitlist is not ranked. She said we could hear anything between now and August....However, I will say to those who feel a little uneasy about being waitlisted, she advised that I should be proud to be placed on the waitlist as many people did not even get in. There is a possiblity we could be pulled off the waitlist, but I think at this point we should continue to do well in the pre reqs and possibly apply to other schools in the interim.

Hi everyone! Congrats to all who were accepted into the 2016 fall cohort! I can't wait to meet everyone! for anyone who has conditional acceptance for a&p 1 and 2 or microbiology I just wanted to share that John's Hopkins and George Washington University offers them online over the summer. Both are a little spendy, but I have had a hard time finding a microbiology in the triangle cities of NC...so if anyone knows of a community college/university please let me know! I am excited to meet everyone and cannot wait for Duke Days!!
