The deadline for Fall 2010 is March 1st, and we will know the result of acceptance in the middle of April. It's a pretty good time right now for the people applying to the Fall 2010 to gather together. You know, to share the experiences from the torturous waiting, how you think you are doing with your pre-reg and Teas, update information or .... to decide to share the apt with in the future! :p. If we are accepted, pretty much we will see each other for the next 2 years and a half!

SO HELLO PROSPECTIVE CLASSMATES!

The non refundable admission fee is $200. It goes towards your admission fees and it has to be received before May 1st or you cannot attend the school. I called the nursing department and she said it is wise to just go ahead and pay the money because they might not let us know if we got in until after April 15th. Also, if you are an alternate and by some lucky chance you DO get a spot in the program and didn't pay the $200 you cannot accept the spot. So, the $200 has to do with just general admission into the school. You see, if you are accepted into the just the school...you can attend the school even if you are not admitted into the nursing program. I'm just hoping they will let us know before May 1...hopefully TODAY...because if you are not an alternate there is no use in throwing $200 away if you don't want to attend the university (frankly I think it's a waste of money to attend a university if you don't get into the nursing program because you should have all your lower GE done and just two upper division GE's which you can take while in the program. Plus, there isn't that many more points granted to continuing University students but I guess if you already live near the university it wouldn't matter as much if you had the money). But, anywho....good luck with Fresno!! I'm hoping to get into Bakersfield...that's my number one choice!! There was only 126 applicants I believe and now they are down to 107 after they cut out those who didn't meet certain criteria or who changed their minds!

hopefully they mailed out the letters today. I thought I was going to get my letter today but the mail man just delivered ads lol . I hate waiting =x

It's still strange to me that you have the request to pay the $200 deposit to school. They don't notice anything to me, and always say that I still have to wait for the result from nursing department 1st. Anyways, the importance is the letter of acceptance, we have it, we're all set!

They said they mailed the letter yesterday! I called this morning, it's so funny when the lady always recognizes who I am!lolz....

I cannot check my mailbox, my grandpa took the key away and I have no idea

where he is now!-.-

Brighten, u care for Chico now?! did u hear from SFSU yet?^^ I thought Chico was ur last option!

@turtle Yes, chico is still my last option but I did spend some $$ sending in transcripts, teas score, and etc.. so I would like to find out soon lol, And I got waitlisted from SFSU =(. Im still waiting for 2 more schools. hopefully I don't need to get into chico lol.

In the packet we received from Admissions it says we have to pay the fee by May 1st. I called the nursing department and the lady said that if we are an alternate that we have to have the intent to enroll for and $200 fee in or else we can't get into the nursing program even if we are accepted at a later time. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about? But, it makes sense to me. They do it the same way at Channel Islands. You don't have to pay a fee if you have financial aid though or have ever atttend Chico as a full time student!

I can't wait to get the mail tomorrow! It better be in my mail box!! :)

OMG, I just asked the admission today, I didn't get the letter of admission from the school yet. x( I would be one of those who might get late admission, even after May 1. It makes a mess for my housing application. N didn't have the mail from the nursing dept either! ........ Com'on, it's still within California! hic hic.

@ Bright: Really? n that I always thought getting into SFSU could be a little easier,cuz they didn't ask 4 TEAs this year! When will u know from EastBay n Sac? Those r tough schools too. I just hope u can get into any school ASAP. At my community college right now, because of the budget cut, they reduce massively amount of classes. I'm blessed to finish everything on time, just afraid of waiting one more year would be stupid. It's really unpredictable. Chico was not my 1st option, but now it is my top priority!

................gruuuuuuuu....... I really want to call the local USPS and bug them right away!

@ Turtle: I hope u get in as well :) Hopefully I'll find out from East Bay and Sac soon- probably late April/May. I also applied to one community college so that is like plan E lol but they aren't doing the lottery till like mid May.

I check my mail today and no letter from chico either lol. maybe Saturday?

This is so sad. I got the mail, as soon as I saw the thin white letter, I understood my unfortunate fate! I didn't get in, I was the #8 on the waiting list. #8 is so far away. No hope. This is ridiculous really, all because Chico doesn't count my cumulative GPA.... I wait to the Spring then! Good luck to the rest of u!
