  1. I think that is really good! But, there were only 69 qualified apps for 39 spots this fall. But, I didn't get full pts for gpa, I missed 5 out of the 40 and got an 88.2 on the Teas and was in the top 50% (not sure of final ranking). I think you have a really good shot!
  2. Yes! I feel that it is the safest option and pretty reasonable since it includes food. They also have a nursing floor starting fall that is girls only, so it will be a great way to study with our class! Do you have a fb?
  3. Hi Kat87! I was accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing class! Were you? I am moving on Monday to the dorms to start Patho :)
  4. It depends, what is your gpa?? It's all about point totals....if I don't get in fall with an 88% teas then I'm going to retake it this summer!
  5. Jamie, From my understanding, you will be able to apply to the overall school for Spring 2011 over the summer. There will be a 60 day time frame, but I advise you apply within the first week! Last year, I heard they closed the app period early due to budget cuts, so you don't want to have the same thing happen again to you this summer. Don't worry about Pathophys, if you get in, the nursing advisor will enroll you for Winter quarter. You will basically have 1 week to move because they can't figure out who got into the program until after all grades are in from Fall 2010 and interviews. If we get in for fall 2010 we have 7 days to move! You will apply to the nursing program over the summer as well...they haven't posted the new info on the website though. If I don't get in Fall 2010 I am going to apply for spring 2011 too. So, make sure you take the crit thinking and lifespan class either over the summer or fall semester. Good luck!
  6. Okay, here is the deal. Don't take Patho, if you get accepted into the fall 2011 class then you will take it Summer 2011. They will automatically admit you a quarter earlier. As far as nutrition goes, email ---------- with the course name, the school you took it at and the catalog description. She will get back to you if it is equivalent or not so that way you don't have to waste your time taking another course. So, just call the number on the website and email!! If the course is NOT equivalent, take an online nutrition class through a school where the course is equivalent like I stated before :) Also, just to let you know, I applied to Channel Islands for this upcoming fall semester and I didn't get in. That school is really competitive. Bako is one of the least competitive, and it seems like it is still pretty hard to get into. The TEAS is a MAJOR determining factor if you look at the point value for the different scores. So study, study, study! If I don't get into fall then I'm going to retake the TEAS till I get a 94 so I can get max points. But, other schools don't even look at TEAS, they are more interested in volunteering and work experience and gpa. Good luck!
  7. Yes, what Sandra said is correct. As far as nutrition goes, try an online class. I took the basic online nutrition class through Allan Hancock College and even though it didn't articulate on assist.org or even the Nursing Programs Articulate Chart as CSUB they still accepted it after faxing over the description. Also, Cuesta College in SLO offers an online nutrtion course for health professionals, so that would be the best choice! Also, are you looking to apply Spring? What classes do you have left?
  8. In the packet we received from Admissions it says we have to pay the fee by May 1st. I called the nursing department and the lady said that if we are an alternate that we have to have the intent to enroll for and $200 fee in or else we can't get into the nursing program even if we are accepted at a later time. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about? But, it makes sense to me. They do it the same way at Channel Islands. You don't have to pay a fee if you have financial aid though or have ever atttend Chico as a full time student! I can't wait to get the mail tomorrow! It better be in my mail box!! :)
  9. I have one A and one B for the science portion and One A and one B for the GE portion. Hopefully, if I don't get into anywhere in the fall I will be better off for next application period because I'm taking micro and organic chem right now and am trying really hard for A's...I think it just might happen! Good luck everybody!!! I hope we find out TODAY!!
  10. The non refundable admission fee is $200. It goes towards your admission fees and it has to be received before May 1st or you cannot attend the school. I called the nursing department and she said it is wise to just go ahead and pay the money because they might not let us know if we got in until after April 15th. Also, if you are an alternate and by some lucky chance you DO get a spot in the program and didn't pay the $200 you cannot accept the spot. So, the $200 has to do with just general admission into the school. You see, if you are accepted into the just the school...you can attend the school even if you are not admitted into the nursing program. I'm just hoping they will let us know before May 1...hopefully TODAY...because if you are not an alternate there is no use in throwing $200 away if you don't want to attend the university (frankly I think it's a waste of money to attend a university if you don't get into the nursing program because you should have all your lower GE done and just two upper division GE's which you can take while in the program. Plus, there isn't that many more points granted to continuing University students but I guess if you already live near the university it wouldn't matter as much if you had the money). But, anywho....good luck with Fresno!! I'm hoping to get into Bakersfield...that's my number one choice!! There was only 126 applicants I believe and now they are down to 107 after they cut out those who didn't meet certain criteria or who changed their minds!
  11. I got an 88.2 on my Teas and 2 A's and 2 B's for the pre-requ GPA...no work experience, foreign language and co-requs...giving me 75 points. Does anyone know if that is competitive? I know most people who get in are in the 80s....
  12. I meant later than April 15th!
  13. 2600 applications?? That is CRAZY!! Are you sure?? I applied as well...can't wait to hear. I did call and the lady told be they TRY to have decisions by April 15 but it could be sooner. So, are any of you going to pay the $200 non refundable intent to enroll fee?? I'm going to wait another week before I send mine in...I want to see if I hear anything first...
  14. So what does everybody think about the email? I finally got an answer on Summer Quarter. If we are conditionally accepted then she said we just call admissions and change from Fall to Summer....I hope they can accomodate on such short notice....I hope we are GUARANTEED a spot in Patho....
  15. I know, everyone already applied for fall, the cutoff was like Nov 30! But the application for Summer is open right now, so I'm not sure if we have to apply for Summer quarter as well if we still have to take Patho...I think I'll email and ask her!
