I applied for the program and am anxiously/excitedly awaiting word on my admission. Anyone else here who applied for the program? (I was able to find another post like this but there haven't been any responses there, or any answers to my response from the OP.)
Mystory. NYU accepts anyone as long as one have the money. I have a friend that did her BSN at NYU, after 20 years she is still paying for it. So go figure. And yes , she regrets going there. She got her masters for free.
In my post, I said great things about SUNY, CUNY, and private schools like NYU. You go to a great school, no need to be so defensive about justifying it, especially when no one has said otherwise.
By the way, many of the hospitals offer tuition reimbursement to nurses. I am getting my education for free, as are most of my peers. So constantly berating me for my nonexistent debt is unnecessary, although as a psych NP student, it is quite entertaining and interesting, I could almost add this thread to my resume!
kika, thank you so much for your support and inside info!@nurseaig, you've said your comments were meant for your friend, and i've tried to back off and take the higher road. but the reality is, your comments didn't go to your friend's inbox, they came to mine, and in response to a post expressing my excitement about the program. pretty big downer and seemingly out of left field. i would hope next time a post hits a nerve for you, you would keep in mind who's on the receiving end of your comments. food for thought, seriously.
Misery loves company! Again, if people crash school threads by insulting their students or prospective students, or send nasty PM re: our school choices, it says nothing about us or our school, but it says a lot about the person sending them.
The rest of us are excited for you! I am also excited for everyone going to other schools. Good luck everyone!
So to revive this thread, hopefully some of you are still around:
I'm contemplating applying to SUNY Downstate. I see a lot of people on here talking about the FNP program not being very good - would someone elaborate? I like the cost (I have to pay out of pocket) but I want to go to a good program.
Hi Esnooopy, I know that this is an old thread. Hopefully you'll see this! I was just accepted into the FNP program at NYU. I would love to hear what you think about the program, what you've noticed in terms of job opportunities post-graduation and the types of placements offered.
Thanks so much in advance! I hope everything is going well.
