I applied for the program and am anxiously/excitedly awaiting word on my admission. Anyone else here who applied for the program? (I was able to find another post like this but there haven't been any responses there, or any answers to my response from the OP.)

I applied to SUNY Downstate FNP. I miss the deadline for NYU. Oh well. I am going to save alot of money at Downstate.
They supposedly do rolling admissions after the deadline, though I don't know what the chances are like (or the chances for applicants before the deadline, for that matter!). That said, you will definitely save money by going to downstate! I didn't look into it much because I had my heart set on NYU (went there for undergrad), and one of my colleagues went there for her BSN and was very unimpressed. But that may not be relevant as far as the graduate programs go.

IDK anything about the program (sorry) but I am so excited for you. How long is the program?
if you go full time, it's two years including two summers. part-time i guess it depends how quickly you take it.
thanks!
I am wondering why people insist on paying innermost amount of money for a nursing degree when an expensive nursing degree will not give U and increase in salary or leg up on getting an interview. When I see nurses paying a $80,000-$100,000 FOR A BSN and the same or more for a MSN. I kind of wonder where is their common sense. People we are in a recession! And yes, NYU is not known for its nursing program like Hunter or Downstate. Think about it, coming out of nursing school with a loan for a house and U don't own one.
I'm not following your point. Where I work they will not hire you without a BSN. And obviously I can't become an FNP without a master's. I went to NYU for my BSN (for free, actually) and had a good experience so I want to go there again. I think NYU has a good rep and frankly the feedback I've heard from downstate students is pretty bad. As far as hunter, I'm sure it's a good program but I know someone who had to give up on getting a CUNY degree because she could never get the classes she needs. I have to say, I joined this board because I was so excited but I find so many posts here really discouraging.
Ps a house loan in NYC is a helluva lot more than 80k!!! That would be a down payment maybe.
Do the math. Downstate FNP program is 44 credits, at $370 a credit comes out to be little under $19,000 for the entire program. How much would the entire program at NYU cost? Anyone can answer.
Esnooop. My posts are not geared for u. It is for a friend of mine that is planning on going to NYU. Nothing personal.
What is your motivation in this conversation exactly? NYU is the only place I applied because that's where I went before and I was happy there. Is there some purpose to making me feel like crap about the debt I'm about to take on? Do you need to prove that downstate is a better choice since you're not applying to NYU?
I will get my FNP for free. My Hospital is paying for it and the time to attend classes.
