Application for Exam at California Board of Nursing - Help!

Published

hi! i hope someone can help me. i am a graduate of nursing in the philippines (batch 2009) and i'm planning to apply for the state boards in california. i have been checking the website www.rn.ca.gov for information.

in the information i got from the site it says, "transcripts are required from all colleges and/or universities you attended that reflect courses required for a degree in nursing, including general education course requirements and all nursing courses."

before i started to take up nursing on 2006, i was already a graduate of ab mass communication on 2002 from a university different from where i finished my nursing. i also took some units (for another course) from another university before i shifted to mass comm. in both these schools, some minor subjects (like english, philosophy, algebra, etc) were credited in my nursing curriculum. my question is, would i need to request for transcript from them too? then if these transcripts have to be directly sent from the schools to the california board of nursing, then they will have to arrive separately - will that be okay?

also, would the transcript need to indicate "for foreign exam purposes only"?

thank you.

As long as the envelope they are in is sealed and stamped by the school you shouldn't have any problems sending them in

Alright, thank you, just wanted to make sure, because all this time I thought it had to be sent directly from the school. Thanks

I have a another question, does the diploma AND the transcript have to be Authenticated before sending it to CA Board of Nursing? And where do we do this? The philippine's PRC, or at the school, or Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), CHED or where?

Thx again.

Your transcripts must come from your school and they have to be official trancripts. No photocopies etc. Those are usually furnished through your school, it depends on how it's done in your country. If you reread what Silverdragon posted it answers your question.

yes i know about the transcripts coming directly from the school, but i was talking about Authentication.. i read some info saying only the diploma is authenticated, but i also read other info that it has to be the diplom AND transcript that has to be authenticated... so that's what i'm wondering about...

do they require the diploma? i think its the transcript only. not sure.
