  1. @ rareruby: the exam was pretty difficult -- mostly dealing with fundamentals. After the exam, the HR told us that they will text those who passed in two weeks and that if we didnt get a text message from them, that means we didnt make it. Well, I did get a text from them. Took the psych exam and was told that it would take two months to hear from them if we passed. @jasper2009: Yes, I think that will be a good idea if we could update each other but I dont know how the PM works here so I don't know how I could give you my number. :-)
  2. Do you think it matters if I indicate in my resume that I am an NCLEX passer? Will it be a good idea or not? Cuz I just passed the exam at medical city. Took their psych exam. And now I am just waiting if i will be allowed to proceed with the interview.
  3. Thanks. I registered online yesterday at Pearsonvue and paid the $200 fee. I was able to print the receipt with the order number. But I wonder why I have not received any confirmation in my email until now. Been checking the spam folder too in case it goes there. Do I have to worry?
  4. I got my Eligibility from Ca the other day. They are pretty quick! Wasn't expecting it in another few weeks. So what's next after this? Is this the part where I need to register at the Pearsonvue online so I can get an ATT? Do I need to pay the full $350 ($200 plus $150 for testing outside of US) right away?
  5. Thank you, Silverdragon102. I have been browsing the NCSBN website and I see that there will be a new test plan that will take effect this April of 2010. Well all of my review materials are based only on the previous 2007 test plan and these are all I have been reading lately. I hope to be able to receive my eligibility soonest so I can register, schedule, and take the exam before April... But if ever I don't meet that timeframe, would that mean that I would have study all over again based on the 2010 test plan?
  6. Hi! Last November 16th I have submitted all my requirements to the CaBRN. How long would it take before I receive my eligibility? Also, can anyone tell me how do I go about the process if I decide take the exam in the US? I have an Aunt in Ca with whom I can stay with. I currently have a valid passport but have never tried applying for a US Visa. Would I need to apply for a tourist visa then? What are the chances of me getting approved for one? -- Note that I am currently unemployed since I have been preparing for my NCLEX. Would it in anyway increase my chances of getting approved for a tourist visa if I would apply for my child and I together? Thanks.
  7. Okay, I see. So after I receive my eligibility, how do I get an ATT? Is that the one that can be done online? And what's next after that? Is it possible that I finish the process by early next year? Thanks for the info. I frequently get confused about which steps come first. I have started doing my self-review even before I have started the application process but I really plan to enroll in a review class as soon as get the schedule for the exam. For now I've been kind of putting off the idea of enrolling because I am currently employed in a non-hospital setting. I plan to quit my job when I have my timeframe all figured-out. To do that, I would need to get an idea of the whole picture. :-)
  8. Hi! Last week I have received a confirmation from Fedex that my documents (Application for Examination and all other requirements) have been successfully delivered to the Ca BRN. So how long do I wait till I get a response from the Ca BRN? Is it what they call the "Eligibility" that I should receive from them? Thanks.
  9. Thanks a lot! I'll check that site.
  10. I already found out the answer! A = Asian/Pacific Islander
  11. Yes, I know. You have a point. But at some time in the past I remember in my dad's Philippine passport it indicated "brown" for 'race'... And we are pure Filipinos. When I was doing my fingerprints at NBI, the other RN beside me wrote "A" for Asian. In the reference provided by the Ca BRN http://www.rn.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/exam-app.pdf , page 6, it indicated the instructions for completing the fingerprint card. It said something about the Height, Weight, Color of Eyes/Hair, but it didnt say anything about the race. :-(
  12. Hehe! Because in the manual that they supplied what is supposed to be written, for example - BLK for black eyes/hair. But it didn't say what are my choices for the 'race'.
  13. Thanks a lot! I will mail them tomorrow thru Fedex. But wait, one quick question... In my fingerprint card, what do I put in the space for 'race'? Is it 'A' for Asian? Or 'B' for brown? Sorry if I sound silly...
  14. Hi! I'm almost done with my requirements for the Ca BRN. I am now at the point where I am preparing to send the application. My question now is would I really have to pay for the Interim Permit fee? I know it's only like $30 but I see in the requirements for an Interim Permit it says that I would have passed TOEFL. I have not taken the TOEFL exam. Would that mean it's pointless paying the $30? What's the Interim Permit for, anyway? Or can I just take the IELTS?And also, I dont know much about where I could inquire, review, and take the TOEFL exam. Can you help me with some more information? Thanks a lot.
