Hello everybody! Long time lurker and first time poster on this site. I was hoping to start a thread to see where everybody is at on their points and etc. Some info about myself I suppose: Applied at PCC, MHCC and CCC, I have experience as a CNA and completed all my pre-req's with 3.9 GPA. Feeling pretty good but not when its compared to 800 other applicants! Thought this would be a good way to see if emails were being sent in the next few weeks and waitlist info. Good luck everyone
:::: WAITLIST/ALTERNATE INQUIRY ::::
Now that the sorting has begun, has anyone heard of any movement from PCC?
From the orientation, it appeared as though alternates should be phoned starting on 6/16/16. Just wondering if this has started so I can plan my summer.
Good luck to everyone and congrats to all that were accepted for 2016!
I too am an alternate for PCC and sadly did not receive a call yet, I am hoping that they haven't made the calls yet. I wish they would let us know where we are on the alternate list so we would have an idea if there is a chance of getting in or not, so nerve wracking. I am also on CCC's wait list.
This is great information, thank you! I know it's from last year but totally still applies. At the proctored interview many were talking about the process from this point on, do you have any pointers while we wait this out for results? I'm trying not to get too caught up on stats and the "what if's". I had a really good vibe at PCC and am seriously hoping that I get an invite. Just nervous about moving forward and am trying to stay optimistic. Specifically if you could provide information on what it was like for you and others in your classes, i.e. how many were invited to interview, point totals, how many were accepted, how many wait listed and of those how many ultimately made it in? All your comments are appreciated and am hoping with all my fingers crossed that I get to also become a student nurse at PCC, I really felt at home there. TIA!
Nothing's dumb about the nursing school application process (especially PCC's), and I know a handful of people who truly hoped to get into PCC's program versus CCC and MHCC. I think it's great to get to know yourself and why you are applying at all, and why any one of these applicants has the motivation and drive to become a nurse. Plus, when I began the program at PCC, instructors acknowledged that there are a lot of things we need to learn. Sure, prior experience gives you a leg up on any one of these interview processes, but your dedication is a huge determinant. The group of students I work with at PCC are some of the smartest cookies I know... regardless of the "dumb" application process we went through. I'm even impressed that instructors have stuck around for 25+ years, and are not the kind of nurses who stick to their old ways, but grow with the development of new techniques and all that.Anyway, if you are applying to any of the OCNE schools, you are on the right track. PCC, CCC, MHCC, RCC + four others... study hard, finish strong, find a work-life-school balance, and get that ADN and take advantage of the RN-BSN at OHSU/Linfield since you're already co-admitted upon admission to any one of these programs.

I think about 180 were asked to come in for the proctored essay, 80 were accepted the second week of May, another 80 were on the wait-list. Since PCC is one of the later programs when accepting students, many went elsewhere and there was a chance a person would be accepted off the wait-list. Everyone accepted and on the waiting list were invited to go to the PCC Nursing orientation that was in mid-June, and people were coming off the waitlist as late as August. I think I had 55/60 points at the time, but now it is out of 70 so I am not sure any advice from me would be helpful in regard to that.
Be persistent, remain optimistic. I have enjoyed the ride at PCC so far and am forever grateful for the experience and opportunity.
Has anyone applied to mhcc nursing program or Pcc with a GPA that wasn't the greatest and actually got in? When I'll apply I'll have a 3.65-3.75 (depending on how classes this summer go :) ). I'll get all points for work, not repeating a&p, prerequisites done and a degree. Just want to know what my chances are! Any info helps

Also, when is CCC's cutoff deadline for letting them know if you plan on attending their program or not? Thanks!
