Hello everybody! Long time lurker and first time poster on this site. I was hoping to start a thread to see where everybody is at on their points and etc. Some info about myself I suppose: Applied at PCC, MHCC and CCC, I have experience as a CNA and completed all my pre-req's with 3.9 GPA. Feeling pretty good but not when its compared to 800 other applicants! Thought this would be a good way to see if emails were being sent in the next few weeks and waitlist info. Good luck everyone
both CCC and OHSU are a BSN program if you are going the OCNE route through CCC. The difference between the two is still 17K, plus going the OCNE route you get the exact same degree from OHSU. Another benefit going with a community college is that you can get your associate degreee and complete your 3rd year while being an RN and having the ability to work as an RN
I really thought until I actually got accepted to OHSU that I would choose CCC if I got in. I did all my pre-reqs at CCC, I live really close to the campus and cheaper. I just started thinking about all of the opportunity at OHSU and it fits better with my long term goals. But I'm giving up my spot so if CCC is what you really want maybe my spot will be yours! Haha.
I'm curious and looking for some input from those of you that might be in a situation of having to decide between schools. I've been offered a spot at PCC which I will gladly take...but I was also placed on the alternate list for OHSU. If I happen to get the call from OHSU (and that's a big IF, haha) I'm not sure yet which program I would choose. There are pros and cons to both. I'm curious what others thoughts or reasonings might be for choosing one or the other. Obviously every students situation is different and your reasons might be completely different than mine but a little outside insight might be helpful!
My main points to consider:
PCC is closer, cheaper, has parking, and I would still get my BSN from OHSU.
On the other hand I feel like OHSU would provide more networking and opportunities down the road. Plus, even thought both programs follow the same curriculum I feel like OHSU is just top notch.
Thoughts?

Where are you on the alternate list? I agree it's a personal preference and will really vary on the person. I decided on OHSU as my top choice mainly because it just felt right. Sounds cheesey, but that's why haha I don't really have any logical explanation lol so I advise to go with your gut!

I got accepted to OHSU and CCC. Until I got my acceptance email I wasn't sure I would accept at OHSU if I got in somewhere else. When I got my email I knew I wanted to go to OHSU. Before I just felt like it would be too expensive or inconvenient but really it's what I wanted and just decided that I would deal with the other stuff to make it happen. I think you will know what you really want when the moment comes. There really wasn't a whole lot of reasoning behind it for me. Although I'm also really interested in moving onto a graduate program so I think that influenced my decision a little too. Just seemed I would have more of a chance to learn about it and talk to people.

I'm right in the middle so I was told I have a moderate chance of getting called. I always thought that OHSU would for sure be my top pick no matter what...but now that I could be faced with making that decision I just can't say with 100% positivity that that's what I want! :/ Following your gut feeling is a good way to go!
I got into OHSU but im really wishing to get into CCC, currently Im on the alternate list and have been invited to the orientation. does anyone know the chances of getting in if you are on the alternate list? Im really hoping that some students that got into other school will reply sooner so that Clackamas can inform the applicants on the alternate list.to answer the Question above. The way I would choose the school to attend is expense, ease of travel, pass rate, if you know anyone there, where did you take the prerequisites, feedback from those that were in the program.
I got into OHSU but the reason i would rather go to CCC is because I would save 17k on the tuition, travel would also be easier as well as parking. I also know a few students that have gotten into the program, i also completed most of my prerequisites at CCC
Yeah, that is 17k you could use on the OHSU RN to BSN when you're done at CCC, but you'd be done in two years than three. Think of it that way.
Do any of you know how it works with withdrawing your acceptance? I'm not doing it at the moment, but with going to CCC's orientation I think that I'm hopeful that I'll get in there and yet I've already accepted at PCC. I know I'll lose my seat deposit, but is there anything else that I need to think about?
