Apparently for the last 10 years, apple had been doing research and development on a health monitoring device in biomedical sciences. It would basically be like a band aid that goes on your wrist and monitors your blood sugar, potassium, and vital signs. They are developing more on the monitoring so that it would tell you everything you would find in a BMP! I think this could be a major invention in the world for our diabetics and kidney patients! Especially pre diabetics that are trying to figure out their diet needs and what to avoid. Can you imagine?! Here's the link:

All I can think of is the mark of the beast when I see that.

Yikes, I'm a Christians with type 1 diabetes. It does sort of have a mark of the beast quality, yet I want one for the practical value it provides.

What are you guys talking about when you say the mark of the beast? If you're referring to the devil, I don't really get how this is the devils work. It would be huge for diabetes... Please explain.

I was refering to the rabbit trail of the mark of the beast....please don't go to a discussion over that. But obviously it's up to the posters what they want to post.

Technology is constantly advancing, I think this could be a great tool to those who would be proactive in responding to the data related to their goals....of keeping their sugars regulated.

Thank you for sharing. :-)

First off, thanks for sharing this. I've had diabetes for 36 years and in my lifetime it's been amazing to see the technology advances and the huge impact they've made on managing diabetes. I was diagnosed before glucose meters were available. Now I have a glucose meter that gives me results in 5 seconds and sends to my insulin pump and recommends a bolus insulin dose. I know this is a big reason why I had a healthy pregnancy (5.1 A1c) and why I rarely have hypoglycemia.

The mark of the beast is a Biblical reference. The Bible says that the world is going to end at some point and in the last days, terrible things will happen including an Antichrist who will gain world power and require everyone to get a "mark of the beast" showing his/her allegiance. The Bible goes on to say that everyone at that time will be required to have the mark in order to buy anything or do business, so it will force people to choose if they are willing to stand up for God or if they are going to choose the Antichrist. Understanding end times prophecy is not at the heart of Christianity. The main point of Christian faith is understanding that God is perfect and holy, people are not, but that Jesus bridges that gap between us. So if you trust Jesus and put your faith and life in God's hands, you are a Christian.

I know speaking openly about faith upsets some people, but I trust that everyone here can read about another's beliefs and choose to respectfully agree or disagree, just as I try to do with everyone who posts on AN.

Thank you for stating this so eloquently.

Thank you for being cool too HappyWife 77.

I had high hopes for a non-invasive CGM using a laser from a company called C8MediaSensors, but they went belly up. Google is working on a contact lense that is a CGM. I'm Type 2, but I'm now insulin dependent.

I won't get into it much but for the poster that asked, Mark of the Beast has to deal with End Times Prophecy particularly in the last chapter of The Bible. Many Christians such as myself believe we are very near the end since the major sign of the times was fulfilled in 1948.
